Star Wars Outlaws

Star Wars Outlaws will support NVIDIA DLSS 3, Ray Tracing and Reflex

NVIDIA has announced that it has partnered with Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games for Star Wars Outlaws. As such, the game will support NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 and Reflex, as well as Ray Tracing effects.

Sadly, the green team did not reveal how Ubisoft will use Ray Tracing in this new Star Wars game. My guess is that we’ll most likely get an RTGI solution, similar to what we saw in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Star Wars Outlaws is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. In this game, players will explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new.

Players will assume the role of Kay Vess; an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life. Alongside Vess, players will find her companion Nix. Players will fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy’s crime syndicates as they join the galaxy’s most wanted.

The fact that the game will launch with DLSS 3 is also great. Let’s not forget that the Avatar game still does not have official support for NVIDIA’s Frame Generation tech. However, I also hope that Star Wars: Outlaws will also support AMD FSR 3.0. Seriously, it will be funny as hell if the roles reverse and this game will only support DLSS 3. And yes, we won’t be happy about something like that.

There is currently no ETA on when this new Star Wars game will come out. My guess is that we’re looking at a late 2024 release date. Not only that but it may only be available on Ubisoft Connect. Or at least that’s what Ubisoft stated. So, contrary to its other titles, it may not come to EGS, Steam and Windows Store at launch.

Stay tuned for more!
