  1. I was hyped for Squadron 42, it looked promissing, but coming from this company we’ll never lay our hands on that. Or maybe they’ll “release” an eternal alpha money grabbing project, like this one.

    1. Beter they add a statement something like… “Live as a Service” then it would make soo much more sense, we give money the give 2 fixes and a ton of bugs, pretty much sums up games today

  2. Like usual the same handful of haters who predicted “collapse 90 days top for sure!”… back in 2015 🙂

      1. Diablo 3 took more than 10 years and is a fraction of scope, Anthem was done in few years… and have to be redone from ground, BGAE2 announced more than ten years ago is not even in sight… all 3 from multi-billionaire companies (per year).
meanwhile backers can test/play SC since 5 years, contributing to get the game no others publishers care to deliver.
My best 45$ ever spend in a game.

        1. Why do you always compare to other games, especially games that were only announced years ago but weren’t in development (BG&E2)?
And why do you never compare to EVE Online or SWTOR?

      2. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Development takes time, the more ambitious it is the more time it takes. Name a game more ambitious than Star Citizen. Pro tip:
        there isn’t one.

        1. So, you don’t get points for being ambitious when what comes out of you is utterly broken.

Next get consoles will have better graphics by the end of the generation. Unreal engine is more impreasive then the frankenengine they have going there.

Star Citizen is a laughing stock amongs PC gamers and gamers in general at this point.

          1. U5 demo is just that: a demo. Fun that some now put a tech demo on a pedestal… while claiming SC is just a tech demo 🙂

Can we play U5 demo? No

Can we play SC (alpha)? yes we can

          2. That’s why I said at the END of the next generation not beggining. You can’t even read.

          3. And there is nothing new to do in this patch. Or the last patch. Or the patch before that for the matter. 😀

            Delayed. Delayed. Delayed. 😀

          4. So wait till it is released. Ten thousands new backers at every patch not agreeing with you.. you must be right 🙂

          5. Answer the call 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017. We’re in mid 2020 now. 😀

By the time it will release it will be outshinned bu console games :D. That’s if it ever releases.

Oh and the amount of people who support SC is far smaller than the amount of people who are making fun of this mess.

          6. Sure. An handful of remaining naysayers throwing words with no meaning (scam), console that precisely in 2020/2021 will be able to handle SQ42 without restrictions because build from start for 4K experience, funding which is year to year better than the best year ever in 2018-2019…

Keep having fun with whatever you want, it never stopped SQ42+SC project to grow quarterly 🙂

          7. A handful? Go to r/games and see what the general concensus is about this train wreck 😀 There is a handful of believers who keep pouring money into a broken mess of a “game” made out of a frankenengine that is already outdated in comparison to industry stadard.

You get that? Your magnum opus of a game is not even half way to being finished and is being build on an already outdated engine. I mean lol?

Wasn’t the alpha for SQ42 supposed to come out late 2019? beta in mid 2020? It’s mid 2020 and there is no alpha yet…

          8. Fine. R/games have hundreds of guys skeptical or calling it scam even if the word have no meaning in SC context…. versus +1.2 million individual backers and growing every day.

There is no problem at all to wait for them a beta or even release. Ambitious project are never done by skepticals nor guys leaving remarks in websites comment section… 🙂

          9. Hundreds? Please go to any gaming sub and there is nothing but people laughing at it. Only the SC subreddit is riding CiGs nuts like it’s the best thing since sliced bread.

There is a whole subreddit of people trying to get refunds and selling their ships off on gray market just to get out. They took a 40m investment for marketting for a game that’s not even close to being out. They have loans everywhere UK, US you name it. If it’s so financially stable why they taking loans and investments?

Anyways. No reason to keep going in circles. Outdated sh*t cryengine/lumberyard engine. Game broken in almost every aspect. No reasonable updates for the past year now. Nothing even remotely interesting on the horizon as per their own roadmap. Broken ToW battlefield rip off. Which by the way is hilarious. They kept going on how they will make a super duper game and ended up making ToW which is another CoD/BF shooter that doesn’t even work. 😀

            Just facts here boy.

          10. Yeah we know. Refund is not a bad word, so much it is even included in TOS.

A whole sub reddit dedicated at 95% to make threads of prophecies of Doom or explaining how Seniors managers should make Triple-A… A hint , I am a member as well Never asked or will ask for any type of refund) but just to learn how Triple-A have to be made… as per anon internet “experts” 🙂

You are right, no need to turn in circles, you know nothing about the project beside memes. Long time Lumberyard is a fraction of current engine so heavily modified they call it “space engine”. Just facts boy.

          11. Its not utterly broken though. I just got finished playing it for at least five hours. Sure there are bugs but thats what you’d expect in an alpha…
Next gen consoles might have better graphics than Star Citizen has right now in its alpha stage, but the ambitious scale of Star Citizen is nothing to do with its graphics at all.

          12. Yeah that’s when you know how to “navigate” the bugs. 😀 Most people are having a horible time with the game. TOW compleatly broken. A total joke.

Well I find it super hilerious that the game that was innitially marketed as “PC only master race game that could never be done onn connsoles” is now looking so meh. 😀

          13. Please, enlighten us on these bugs that can be “navigated”. Lets see how much you actually know from experience…

          14. Please I’m not stupid enough to give CiG any money. I just watched countless of videos online people falling through floors, losing their ships by blowing up for no reason. Dying for no reason. Getting stick. Animations being totally broken. Lag that is seriously bad. Physics grids compleatly broken at times.

            Totall sh*t show. 😀

          15. Another one that hasn’t played it, says it all.

Instead of telling others to learn to read maybe you should too. I asked for examples of bugs that could be (as you claimed) “navigated” not typical glitches youd find in an alpha.

You hate it because you’re jealous and cant play it because you’re a console pleb triggered by an SC post on a PC forum; thats obviously whats going on here. Since your excuse for not playing is that you dont want to give CIG money yet you can play the game without spending a single penny on the game, some scam eh?

Whats that you were saying about the game being a joke? Looks to me like you turned into the joke. 😀

          16. I don’t need to play it to have an oppinion on the state of it when I can just watch videos of other people try to play it.

I can play it :D. Isn’t it free right now for a week or so? But I don’t want to download it because I know how broken it is and I don’t want to put up with that. I am not interested in playing broken games that don’t work most of the time.

Can’t be too mad at CiG for their crap game though. I mean they have built it on an engine that was never meant to make a game like that. An outdated engine by now.

          17. Same goes for all games then, dont need to play Dark Souls because I watched a video of a boss falling through the ground, dont need to play any Elder Scrolls game just watched a video of a giant smashing someone three miles into the air etc, etc…

Theres nothing on consoles right now that looks as good as SC, nothing. You can argue for all your sub 30fps movie games all you like but you’ll still be wrong. Even in its current alpha stage, the meat and bones still being developed, there is nothing on consoles that comes close to the wow moments you have after stepping out of your ship for the first time on a planet, and its only going to get better. The closest you’ll get to doing that on consoles is …No Mans Sky. 😀

You cant play it, if you could you would have already and you wouldn’t be here posting misinformation that you copied from another SC hate thread. If the game was announced for consoles you’d be all over it, and you know it.

Feel free to prove me wrong.

          18. Please that’s all that happens in SC. 😀 I can play countless of games that actually work instead of paying for a broken tech demo made on an outdated engine that bearly works.

I’m not talking about consoles now. SC isn’t anywhere close to being released. By the time, if ever it does, console games will look better.

BGAE will blow this sh*t game out of the water and it will be on consoles too.

I have a good PC by the way. I don’t know why you keep bringing up consoles when I am a PC gamer primarally.

          19. Ashamed of consoles so you pretend to be a PC gamer now? Your previous comments in this thread say console gamer. It would be easy for you to prove me wrong but you wont, why? – because you cant. You dont have a capable PC, just your mums laptop.

          20. GTX 1080, 16 gigs of ram and a 4770k with an ssd.

But you are most likely 100% correct. I couldn’t run SC with reasonable FPS with these specs. That game with its frankenengine will never work properly.

Hilarious that they can’t even make a BF rip off on an engine that is made for FPS games. So incompetant it’s byond any belief.

          21. Your imaginary CPU has an SSD?

You think listing some specs you googled and telling me you have a CPU with an SSD (lol) legitimises you owning a capable PC? Well that just sums up the entire debate doesn’t it…

          22. Why do you care so much about what I own? 😀 The conversation is about your sh*t game that looks last-gen already. Built on an engine that was never meant to do anything it’s trying to do. Missing almost all relevant features in every update since the middle of last year. Lags terribly. Crashes a lot. Servers are unstable. Clipping through everything. Ships disappearing. Ships blowing up for no reason. The character dies for no reason. Cargo goes puff. Credits disappear. Fall through the floor. Leave the station and travel for 15 mins staring at the “not a loading screen” waiting for overheating to kick in so you can do it all over again.

            SQ42 answer the call 2014 to 2020 :D. Alpha late 2019 beta mid-2020.

Anyways. It’s bad. Bad all around. Never going to be good. CiG just doesn’t have the talent anymore really. Most people who were at the top left a while ago. They don’t show up on the screen anymore for a reason.

          23. Heres what we know about you from your previous posts:

            -You’re a console fanboy.
-You pretend to have a PC.
-You’re self conscious about being a console gamer.
-You know nothing about Star Citizen yet pretend you do.
-You apparently have a CPU with its own SSD.
-Talking rubbish about games you cant play makes you feel better about owning a toy.
            -You lie (a lot).

I could go on but I dont see any more reason to converse with someone who cant stop lieing.

          24. Well, none of that is true but you continue to think that as long as that helps you get over your clear and serious mental struggles.

        2. “Name a game more ambitious than Star Citizen”.Who cares about ambition when after 7 years there’s still just an empty space with nothing but a barebones PvP in it using retardedly overpriced virtual ships? In another 7 years when they will add something like quests and trading – just keep repeating how ambitious it is.

          1. Seven years isn’t long for a AAA dev project, especially for something as grand as SC. I only paid £35 and I have 4 ships now. So much for having to buy “overpriced virtual ships”… Its not an empty space with nothing to do either, but I am glad you started your spew off by proving you’ve never played it. Makes everything else you say from now on kinda pointless to read doesn’t it?

          2. “Seven years isn’t long for a AAA dev project” – not only it is and way past any reasonable timeframe – it also means the project will never ever see the light of day. Because at this point it is still barely more than a very dated tech-demo and it means people working on it are grossly incompetent. Yeah, of course, it’s just super rich with content – repetitive “proceduraly generated” planets and some space pvp – that they’ve spent whole 7 years developing. I mean 7 years and it’s still in alpha, nothing like a real game – with a budget of the most expensive AAAs out there.

          3. Look how wrong you are again:

            – Starcraft 2 took 7 years to develop.
            – L.A Noir took 7 years to develop.
            – Spore was 8 years to develop.
            – Too Human took 9 years to develop.
            – Team Fortress 2 was 9 years in development.
            – The original Prey took 11 years.
            – Diablo III …11 years

            …I could go on.

None of the games above have the scale or ambition of SC.

          4. All I can say is you’re a delusional fanboy. DIsliking much every single comment someone says it’s a “scam”? Development time within older titles shouldn’t be compared to the new ones, because back in the days the engines were always in-house and had limited features that required alternative ways to debug messy algorithms. Nowadays, when game development is at it’s peak, because you can literally develop a game without having a basic coding skillset, it just show how cash grab Imperium is. Heck, even CP2077 has a marginably less devs working on the game with smaller funding than SC devs, but it’s still barely playable. On top of that, microtransactions already? Seriously? Even as a backer you should own everything in one package, hence the cost…

          5. Of course im going to dislike them, they’re misinformation. Usually spread by actual fanboys, like yourself. The game has already delivered on everything the original crowd funding campaign said it would deliver and then some. Everything after this from alpha onward is bonus made possible by the stretch funding, hence the reason development time has been widened.

When I get SQ42 ill have everything in one package for the £35 i spent backing it. SC Is an MMO, it would be impossible to have everything even if I did buy all there is to buy, and by buy I mean be rewarded for helping fund development, since thats what it is.

As for your rant about old in house engines and admitting they have limited features 😀 Good job destroying your own argument.
Also:Prey used Id Tech 4 (doom3 engine updated from Quake engine) TF2 Used a updated iteration of GoldSrc (Source).
etc, etc so you can stop with the bullshit excuse of in house engine development as if these engines were created from scratch.

Being a developer myself I know that coding is the least time consuming part of making a game, anyone here who has developed games will attest to that. Its the content that takes the most time, audio, textures, models, UI work …you know, something that a game like SC will require a lot of.

  3. Remember when Star Citizen looked like a next-gen game? Remember when Star Citizen looked like a current-gen game?

    Whoopsie!

    1. Compare 2012 kickstarter video and 2020… and kickstarter pitch. There is no mention of next-gen game.

Quote: “ We say they’re(publishers) wrong. We say that there is a large audience of PC gamers that want sophisticated games built for their platform. And inside this audience, a significant group of people that have always loved space games, and if given a quality one again will be happy to play it.

      1. Been 7 years. No quality space game to be found. Not for the next 7 years – if they won’t run out of cash first.

        1. Cool another prophecy. The cash one is my preferred, proven wrong every 90 days… since 2015 which was the end for sure!!
