Rumour: Grand Theft Auto 6 will be based in Miami, targets a 2022 release

YouTube’s channel ‘The Know’ has revealed some new details about the next part in the Grand Theft Auto series. According to The Know’s inside source, GTA VI is codenamed Project Americas and will be based in Miami.

In Grand Theft Auto 6, players will be able to fly between the USA and South America when they are doing missions. The Know’s source did not clarify whether the game will be taking in place in current/modern or past times.

GTA 6 may release in the next 3 to 4 years, meaning that Rockstar may target a 2022 release. Obviously this could mean that the game will be most likely coming on both the current and the next-gen platforms. And if GTA V is anything to go by, we can safely say that the PC version will get delayed and will release after the current-gen console versions.

Last but not least, the main character of the game may be a female character. This has not been confirmed yet and there is no word about whether the game will let you control one or multiple characters.

As always, take everything you just read with a grain of salt. Grand Theft Auto VI will not be coming out anytime soon and the aforementioned details may change during its development.
