Rocksteady issues official statement about its absence from E3 2018

As always, a lot of rumours surfaced a few days before the launch of E3, suggesting that Rocksteady would unveil its next project – rumoured to be a Superman game – during this gaming event. However, Rocksteady was nowhere to be found and the team has issued an official statement about its absence.

According to the statement, the team is working hard on its next project and will reveal it as soon as it’s ready. Below you can find the full statement.

“We know some of you were disappointed that we were not at E3 this year. The whole team has been reading your comments, and all of us here at Rocksteady really appreciate your passion for our next project.

Knowing how much it means to you keep us inspired and energized to deliver a game that you will be proud of. We’ll share it with you as soon as it’s ready. “

There was a reason we did not cover those rumours regarding Rocksteady’s game and now you know why.

        1. I might have to “Rent” a Playstation from my local Walmart for a week or so just to play, if that’s the case. Exclusivity sucks.

          1. Buy a Playstation and return it within the 14-day “no questions asked” time frame for a full refund.

    1. I’d like a Superman movie written and directed by competent people for once. As a game I don’t think the character can work.

  1. DC has no shortage of characters to choose from. I hope they go more obscure and stay with a grounded character opposed to a Superman or Green Lantern.

    1. >DC has no shortage of characters to choose from.

Agree with this but disagree with the others. I’m a massive DC fan but DC’s exposure in the video game world is very limited so having blockbuster AAA titles featuring some of the main Justice Leaguers would be great to start with. We’ve gotten the Batman Arkham games and Injustice 1+2 and that’s a start.

I can’t tell you how hyped I’d be if a Green Lantern Corps game was announced that was a cross between God of War and Mass Effect 1-3. Or a Superman action RPG made by Rocksteady. Massive potential.

Of course, I’d also love games based on Vixen, Lobo, Doom Patrol, Metal Men, Blackhawk and a hundred other titles.

  2. “us here at Rocksteady really appreciate your passion”

Gamers sure showed Rocksteady plenty of “passion” when it transpired that they, in conjunction with Warner Bros., hired a small and ill-equipped external studio for the PC port of Batman Arkham Knight. Doubly so when Rocksteady and Warner Bros. failed to disclose said fact during the game’s pre-order period and it only came to light soon after the game was released with the resultant catastrophe that ensued. gg

  3. lol they saw cyberpunk and knew they couldnt copete. sony probably pulled it from there conference as it was there ace in the hole to win. maybe next year !

  4. Basically a non-answer. But still beats lame excuses such as “lol we are watching football lol” by Deep Silver.

  5. Screens of a superman project surfaced a year-ish ago, im surprised everyone forgot this already.
