The closed alpha phase of Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is currently underway and some streamers have leaked the game’s PC graphics settings. While these are the graphics settings for the closed alpha build, we are pretty sure that the final version will sport the same PC graphics settings.
As we can see, PC gamers can adjust the quality of Textures, Terrain Groundcover, Lighting, Shadow, Effects, Post-Process, Mesh, Anti-Aliasing and Ambient Occlusion. Moreover, there are options for Resolution Scale, Motion Blur and VSync.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is currently planned for a November 17th release.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Nvidia will be happy – there is no DX12 option (like in Andromeda and Fifa 18). It looks that BF1 was the only game with both DX11 and DX12
The Xbox One version will have it.
But PC version is probably “DX11 only” like Mass Effect Andromeda.
DICE isn’t BioWare.
Just saying.
Both games used single Frostbite 3 engine. EA removed DX12 in Andromeda and support only DX11.
“EA removed DX12”
EA didn’t do sh*t, it was BioWare Montreal. Look into it, Polygon (ugh) has a great expose about how f*cked up Andromeda’s development process really was. In the midst of all that, throwing in a DX12-shaped wrench would have been the dumbest thing possible, so it makes sense that they didn’t pick it up, considering how it’s quite likely none of them had any prior experience with it, as well, since they were all just a bunch of inexperienced graduates with their associated low salaries, of course.
DICE, on the other hand, could quite possibly use it, since they have a history with it. The real question is whether or not Anthem will use it, since it’s a different (read: actually experienced) BioWare studio – BioWare Edmonton – working on that – albeit, one that’s never published anything powered by Frostbite as of yet, since it was BioWare Austin that did Dragon Age III.
Seriously, between the two of us, why in the f*ck am I the one arguing that they might actually use DX12 here, instead of you? What, has Microsoft completely abandoned all hope for it, or some such? I mean, come on, mate.
For now DX12 is overhyped!
I haven’t seen better performance of DX12 yet….
I played Battlefield 1 on DX11 and DX12 but I didn’t feel any difference!or other games!
Now DX12 is like a advertising tricky for some Video game companies.
C:Our game have DX12
G:Very cool,What can DX12 do?
C:Nothing!!!But it isn’t DX11 anymore
Nice to see DX12 finally choking to death on its incompetence & mediocrity 😀
He’s only really here to promote DirectX 12 as part of his shilling for Microsoft.
Supposedly. I can’t even tell if he’s advocating for DX12 anymore, really…..
As freaky as that is to say.
Becouse it’s DX12 only title? with SM/VM 6.0 😉
Probably no DX12 at all. Most PC gamers use Nvidia and those graphics cards works better in DX11
The first one was had DX12, there is no way they are going to go backwards and go out of their way to downgrade the PC.
I doubt it, will see. It better have DX12 🙁
Unless there’s something different in the Scorpio, then it’s using the same version of Direct3D as the One, which is a different beast to the DirectX 12 version we’ve on Windows 10.
Yes, they overlap substantially, but not all the work from one automatically carries over to the other. Of course, since it’s DICE & not BioWare we’re talking about it will most likely have it, absolutely, but we shouldn’t use the Xbox version as a scapegoat – after all, by that logic every single game that launches on both the Xbox One & the PC should have DX12 “because Xbox has it.”
Exactly, I don’t have my Xbox One X dev kit yet but its running the same DX API’s(they have 2 be the same as XB1 OG) & is the same as Windows DX API from what I pre prepared & read.
A very few Xbox One games have used DX12 even though technically every game could use DX12(its 100% up to the dev/shop). The thing is you can just use DX11 all you want on the Xbox One and X so many do that and don’t invest the extra time/effort/money 🙁 . But as a dev I get why they do that since not everyone can run DX12.
You can use DX11 on the Xbox? Interesting, I wasn’t aware of that. Wow, that suddenly explains a lot.
Yeah, the minimum is a DX 11 target that you can use or should target & of course up to 12+. The Windows Store is the same way, it has to be 11 and up.
This is why so many games are not leveraging DX12 on the PC and Xbox One. I write game engines as well as make games & if you already have a solid DX 11 engine most will not bother with the effort. It has nothing to do with the Nvidia GPU market share, rather time, effort & money & cross dev factors.
Sad but true on how it is 🙁 , so this is why it looks like DX12 is a flop/not used right now. The tech/API owns, the other factors r why its not the go to API right now. DX11 is the sweet spot since so many know it and use it already. Business stuff always takes a priority over better tech 🙁 , I am thankful I am indie & can do what ever I want.
Exactly. Remember when PC games used to have DX9 because consoles used to be DX9?
Same basic principle.
70-80% of PC gamers use Nvidia hardware which have problems with DX12. BF1 on Nvidia hardware DX11 was faster than DX12. Maybe EA don’t want loose money on features used by 20% of PC gamers?
Mass Effect Andromeda use only DX11 (Frostbite engine 3 like BF1)
This could change. BF1 Beta had dx12 disabled.
Cool, looks solid. I hope they have a FOV slider and support multi screen set-ups as well.
I doubt those were simply “leaked”, EA likes keeping a close eye on who streams what, like how they are using Neebs team to heavily promote Battlefield and Battlefront a good chunk of the time (outside of their usual GTA/Ark runs). I’m pretty sure they told them to leak it to pass tidbits of info through one piece at a time, like how last night we got info on the Loot crate system and “credits”.
I’d love to see more than just FXAA, and TAA being used in your games EA.
The best antialliasing that adds insane amount of detail is always resolution scaler which you should use anyway if you can.
which in turn can hamper performance. if it was perfect in every way, we wouldn’t be sporting so many variations of AA like we still do today.
Well if you have enough power for MSAA you can probably afford to make it calculate 40-80 % more pixels.
Which is why I Was asking for something other than blurry TAA and stupidly demanding MSAA, like I said there are other AA methods out there besides res scale, TAA and MSAA.
We don’t have to go from piddling tiny insignificant FXAA to godlike demanding MSAA, there is a middle ground.
TAA is future, it’s cheap, and does magic at cost of making image look softer which can be solved by using supersampling which is not as expensive if you set it to 10-30 %.
It won’t be “the AA” to use for everything, otherwise that would have been MSAA by that logic, yet there will always be other AA options out there.
Lol MSAA is not NEARLY as intensive as super sampling (which is what resolution scale does). Running the game at 200% is effectively running the game at 4K, if native is 1080p. MSAA 8x is just a waste of GPU power as MSAA cannot antialias transparent textures. SMAA T2X is the ideal solution but that’s unfortunately not in BF1.
That’s why you use 190, 180 or even 170. All will still add more sharpness than any other antialliasing method I’ve ever used.
Of course they’re using popular Youtubers to promate their games. This is why I keep telling people to NOT believe those frauds. Youtubers are far worse than big sites like IGN, and some of them don’t even play games without some sort of contracts.
Lol, i have found the exact opposite. Real game journalism is all moving to youtube, as the big game sites are dying. YongYea, Easy Allies, Kinda Funny, Noclip, and even Angry Joe.
Also, frauds? Yeah, how f*cking dare they publish exclusive content they get from publishers. You know… like real journalists.
Youtubers like Neebs are the ones who have a direct link to the game’s community, of course EA are going to use them as a resource to promote directly to their fans. You make it sound like something illegal is happening because of this? F*ck them for wanting to promote their game directly to those who would be most interested am i right?!?!
The problem I see with this is the key to the whole Youtube transformation. It started as a pool of user-generated content with honest nature, because of no money involved. Now it all just blended into the money-driven shilling corporation. Money is always behind those things, inevitably. I noticed that change starting in like 2010, so this is nothing new. Hardly watching anyone with more than 5k subs for video game commentary.
This. When you’re being paid (or when you’re just getting free games, even), there’s a lot more stress on you to downplay the problems in a game. There’s been several YouTubers making videos detailing how they’d actually get bullet points from the publisher on things they’d like them to talk about, for example, which is fine & all, but you end up with everyone parroting the exact same bullsh*t as everyone else like that, instead of letting each YouTuber review it according to their own personal experiences.
Likewise, when there’s money involved, there’s a far higher chance the YouTuber is going to come down as “neutral” on certain problems, instead of specifically calling them out, since publishers have a tendency to harass (read: DMCA, which is tantamount to harassment on YouTube due to its 3-strikes policies) &/or otherwise pull contracts out from people who review bad products a little too honestly.
The major sites found this out the hard way when their ad revenue was being threatened & YouTubers are discovering this as well; nothing is free in this world.
pc gamers get excited over settings reveal.will it have low, med, high and ultra settings???we will wait and see i cant wait….lmao.
> Real game journalism is all moving to youtube
LOL. The cancerous SJW tribesmen pushing degeneracy and social engineering into our games? Gaming journalism is dead.
So…literally the same as the first Battlefront?
Yep what else do you want?
Not saying I want anything. Just saying this article is unnecessary, as it would suffice to say that all the options are the same as SWBF1.
Instead of clickbaiting people into thinking there is something new.
Yup. I’d assume they still managed to increase the visuals of the game tho.
Most definitely
I just installed this demo and noticed that In the audio settings menu they’ve managed to spell ‘stereo’ as “stere”.
How did you even sign up for this alpha? I never saw any news how to get it
I don’t remember, tbh! I vaguely recall having seen a link to sign up to it but I might be confusing that with another game.
who cares, it’s gonna be a pay2win DLC bait SJW campaign anyway
it’s EA afterall
So why are you there?!If you don’t care, don’t come EA Games NEWS!
Lead minority female. I said it before, I stand by it; when she’s the only one who removes her helmet in the trailer & there’s a confirmed “redemption” storyline, it’s obvious they’re going to kill off all of her male squad members in favour of her surviving solo, so that she can avenge them. Hell, I’d be surprised if they even get any character development efforts put into them.
Like, don’t get me wrong, I’ve nothing against female leads, but this is the 3rd time in as many years; Force Awakens, Rogue One & now Battlefront II? Seriously? What the f*ck, Disney (& that’s not including Rey’s leading role in Last Jedi this winter).
Is 970 g1 gaming enough for custom/ultra settings at 1080p?
Specs are likely to be similar to Battlefield 1. So if you can run BF1 at that specs than probably you can run BFII on same settings.
after months of waiting!!!!!!!! a settings reveal omg!!!!!!!!!.i have waited so long for this……..lmao.
THere is closed alpha right now but people aren’t allowed to share things about it or they can get banned
you pc gamers and your settings reveals…lmao…omg is it going to have vsync?????…omg…omg….lmao
Every game pretty much has vsync.
will it have low settings, medium settings, high settings and ultra settings?????i cant WAIT to find out..omg….lmao
Nothing new these are almost same settings that BF4, BFH, and BF1 have.
yep the same settings that are in every fps ow but LETS HAVE A REVEAL ANY WAY!!!!!!!..lmao.
Leak is leak can’t fk with that
leaks of settings that are in every single fps game on pc….lmao.settings reveal!!!!!!!!!!!!…lmao
