Official E3 schedule confirms that CD Projekt RED will present a role-playing game

The moment most CDPR and Cyberpunk 2077 fans have been waiting for is finally coming. These past few months, there were rumours suggesting that the company could showcase its upcoming RPG at this year’s E3 event. And according to the official E3 schedule, CDPR will be indeed presenting a role-playing game for current-gen systems.

Although the schedule does not reveal the title of this game, we can safely assume that this RPG is no other than Cyberpunk 2077. After all, in January we informed you about some rumours suggesting we’d be getting a trailer during this big event.

We can’t wait to see what CD Projekt RED has in store for us. From what we know so far, Cyberpunk 2077 will feature third-person and a first-person perspectives, will not feature any micro-transactions, and will get expansions similar to those of The Witcher 3.

E3 2018 will begin on June 12th and will last until June 14th.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. There have been some good arguments made that this game won’t be what CDPR has claimed in the past but I’m hoping that it will. They said at one time that it would be even bigger than The Witcher 3.

      1. MS really should have bumped the RAM up to 12 GB on the Xbox One X. There’s always something about a console that holds back real progress. They probably will with the nextbox but who knows how many years that will be. People say that the average PC only has 8 GB RAM but they forget the VRAM in there card whereas the Xbox shares that 8 GB for OS, program, textures etc.

          1. ” God of War looks amazing.”

No not really its on par with most multiplatform games.

          2. That is a ridiculous comment. Even the PCMR needs to give credit when credit is due. Otherwise your simply a fanboy.

          3. nope, looks on par with most games, then again most of the game is close ups to the characters which always look better than the rest of the game no matter the game and the rest is snow. So yeah not really. Infamous second son and the order 1886 look better than god of war.

          4. If that’s your opinion then you’re entitled to it. I however think that it is an amazing looking game. Sony’s 1st party studios are well known for their ability to ring out the most from the hardware they are developing for and God of War fits that bill nicely. You should watch Digital Foundry’s video on it. It really is quite impressive.

          5. From the videos i’m watching, in 4k, it looks a bit better than ROTT, i don’t understand what’s special about it honestly.

        1. The XBOX ONE X does have 12GB of GDDR5@320GB/s. 3GB is reserved for the OS so 9GB is available for games.

        2. i think at this point most people have more than 8 gb ram as far as playing multiplats go, just look at the requirements.

    1. ” They said at one time that it would be even bigger than The Witcher 3.”

They also said one time that it will feature alot of gameplay mechanics that ended up getting scrapped. SOOOO keep your hopes down and enjoy it for what it is.

  2. On the Cyberpunk forum one guy is saying that CDPR was asked at their Financial Results Conference if Cyberpunk would have a Battle Royale mode and Adam Kici?ski replied “Well actually we are considering everything and anything”.

  3. I did some searching and found some recent claims by the CEO of CDPR. He says that there were around 250 people working on The Witcher 3 at its peak and right now he has 300 people working on Cyberpunk 2077 and he says that may rise to closer to 600 before the game is complete. This was from an article 2 months ago.

If this holds up to be true then this game could be huge.

      1. Don’t know and I have seen the reports that CDPR isn’t a pleasant company to work for. In some cases the management is downright abusive if the stories are true.

In the article I read Kici?ski was numbering the employees working on the project currently and proposed that number could go as high as 600. He was saying that to support his statement that the game would be bigger than The Witcher 3.

  4. kinda shocked that pc gamers getting shaft from CDPR but still praising them ups and downs. pc patch delay parity, graphics dumbed down not to mentioned they bow down to SJW too.

    1. no no and no, you are a pathetic troll.

If cd project did any of those things then so did kingdom come deliverance and everyone loved that game apart from sjws.

    2. The graphics downgrade wasn’t an anti-PC move, it was a “make it run at all” move. They produced their early footage with monster graphics using unoptimized nvidia software and prerendering or monster hardware. Then it came time to make the game run on available hardware. You can tell by the performance of the final PC version that the original graphics weren’t going to run on anyone’s computer. They bullshotted and then couldn’t deliver.

  5. “We can’t wait to see what CD Projekt RED has in store for us”

    – another gimped modding suite for the PC version?
    – another sly change to GOG’s regional pricing policy soon before game’s release?
    – another downgrade?
    – more laughable denials about said downgrade?
    – more misrepresentation by advertising the game using pre-downgrade imagery?
    – more shameful implied questioning of Green Man Gaming’s integrity?
    – more obfuscation re: PC version’s ultra settings prior to release?
    – more spreading of FUD by their forum’s moderators?
    – more censorious conduct by their forum’s moderators?
    – continuation of their holier than thou, superior attitude on their blog?

    1. You’re trying so hard though.

You could have condensed 5-6 of those points into ‘downgrade’.

Half of the rest are some silly non issues.

  6. i bet 50 shekels this game will copy every single element from Witcher 3 into the game
    from Witcher senses (Cyber vision)
to the fricken Button mash/roll spam combat

though i may be surprise with the graphics (since the majority of consumers moved to PC the chance of a downgrade is slim) i can already expect mediocrity in terms of gameplay
but compared to the $hite games we can expect from AAA
this will be a breath of fresh air

probably released in 2019 or maybe even 2020, since we’ve not seen much past the concept art stage.

    1. That’s almost optimistic. I think 2019 is 100% not an option. If they show first ever gameplay in the middle of 2018 then it’s not coming in 2019. I think 2 years are the typical timespan between first gameplay showing and release with these kinds of games nowadays. I just checked and the first RDR2 trailer came out in October 2016. Release (unless delayed) will be October 2018. So yeah, 2 years seems to be a minimum at this point, in the context of open world games.

      1. they do have the engine ready and they definitely have the budget for it
all they are lacking is manpower and creativity (their first dive into an unpopular genre)
remember that the witcher 3 took only 3 years to develop
and in reality they only started developing around 2013

so i’m pretty sure it’s gonna be late 2019
since 2019 will be the first year when the “next gen” will be unveiled (seeing how underpowered the current consoles are)
