Obsidian Entertainment has recently announced that The Outer Worlds is coming to Steam. The first-person action-RPG will release on Steam on October 23th. The Outer Worlds has been for almost a year exclusive to the Epic Games Store, and of course the Microsoft Store.
Obsidian Entertainment has created some amazing games in the past, such as Fallout: New Vegas, Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic II, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and more. The Outer Worlds is their latest science fiction role playing game, which initially released back in October of last year.
The Outer Worlds received mostly good ratings, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t have problems. Players are free to make their own choices in the game, and become whoever they want. You can be a hero, a villain, a jerk, or even a halfwit. The choice is yours, and it is always nice when games do not put such restrictions on your playable character.
On the other hand, the combat is not that great, and it can become repetitive and dull quite early in the game. Luckily, the story is quite good, and it can be very funny occasionally.
Lastly, the optimization of the game wasn’t terrible on launch, and the game had very few bugs. It would probably be awesome if Obsidian developed the continuation of Fallout: New Vegas, since it’s now possible due to the acquisition of Bethesda from Microsoft.

I did it because of the Epic exclusivity, i didnt have much interest in the game. The game lasted 30 minutes on my system before delete.

why would you? Anyone who played this game was like “ZOMG SO GOOD FINALLY A GOOD GAME BETTER THAN BETHESDA AND BIOWARE” and a day later we heard nothing from them. This happened to the rest of the community, they quietly toned it down a bit and then shut up about it once they realized the game is nowhere near as good as expected. So the game died and it was forgotten. Because it was forgetable.

I said mediocre given how so many people wanted a “New Vegas 2” in Space…which to me sounds ridiculous but yeah awful is what i would say directly, the game tries to be a parody and critic the corporate world (kinda like some episodes of Futurama did) and fails horribly.
Gameplay wise is not better than Fallout 4…and that’s a low bar.
I’d take Fallout 4 gameplay any day over Outer Worlds’ nerf gun glitter fest.
i mean…..if fallout 4 had the outer world setting, aka sci fi space exploration and it has more choices in the quests with dialogues, it would be better than the outer soywolds. Would let you build your own colonies too and install mods.

no open world with those dated graphics, the game goes nowhere, seemed like a slow burn but before you know it, poof, its over, nothing interesting about it, what was the point? Dumbed down rpg mechanics, awful characters and simplistic combat. Also while there was nothing wrong with the way the weapons were made in new vegas, meaning that you have a set of weapons that you can put upgrades like scopes and silencers on them instead of having level based randomly generated loot which all look alike but have different statistics. The devs went with the latter route and made the weapons upgradeable by having small stats upgrade, which is lazy.
Lets face it the old obsidian is dead.

Played this wih the Xbox Pass thing.. i uninstalled it within 40 minutes didnt like it.
Game started off promising minus the forced Chromatic filter effect I had to modify files to get rid of. I liked it for the first few hrs then after seeing the game was nothing but being about gay relationships even tho i don’t mind playing as a chick and picking up/hitting on other chicks… the game worlds after you leave the big mechanic shop hub world just did not feel interesting. I might give this game another chance/shot when it hits that $10 spot on steam. But yeah… it was kind of disappointing.

you wont get a proper fallout you fool, you will get this but with a fallout setting. Same dialogues, same character and same dumbed down gameplay. Also saying that bethesda and bioware have been trash this gen means nothing. Thats like having to choose between a sht sandwich and a sht soup, the sandwich might be better but not by much.
Now why has bioware been trash? Because of “diversity”. The guy launches into space, down onto the planet into AC Valhalla, then back into space amidst Covenant cruisers, down onto the planet, then back into space and becomes Master Chief – shown when the helmet is taken off and you see the same black guys face in the visor. It’s an extremely common and contrite commercial trope where you’re “in ” the game. Sony did it for years and still does it. MS and Nintendo and Sega also did it for years and still do.

Xbox OG had some of the best exclusives ever made, like Ninja Gaiden and Conker’s Bad Fur Day reloaded, not to mention games like Gears and Forza and Crimson Skies on other Xbox consoles. There have always been excellent games on Xbox, but I guess they don’t compare to your interactive movies on PS like Last of Us and Uncharted, two of the most contrite series ever made; or Spiderman, a completely rehashed beat-em-up that’s barely different than dozens of games with the exact same mechanics.
