The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild feature

Modders are working on a multi-player mode for the CEMU version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Now here is something really cool. Fooni on the REGN8 Discord server announced that he and a team are currently working on a multiplayer mod for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The interesting thing here is that this mod will be exclusive to the CEMU emulated version, so those interested in it will have to game on the PC. Oh, and that the game was not developed with any multi-player mode in mind.

As Fooni noted, this mod will allow 2 people to play locally side by side. In order to achieve something like that, the team will be changing the location of an NPC, and will swap its model to Link. Then it will send all inputs through each game in order to provide a multiplayer experience.

According to Fooni, it will likely take a year or so in order to finish this mod (or have it in a playable state).

Fooni released the first MP images from this mod that can be viewed below.

Enjoy!

    1. Go behind an enemy with the wind leaf, freeze time, and go nuts. And voilá, “B#thole Tickling Simulator 2017” is born.
      You’re welcome 😀

    1. Hopefully, no one is attacking Nintendo. I fully expect that a lot of PC gamers will buy the game in support. If I ever play it on PC perfectly and I like it, I’ll buy the game.
If anything, we may be expanding their market.

        1. I speak only on my name but I would like to believe we are conscious consumers, we’re PC users after all. I believe that, when we can, we support.

    1. It already does. My nephew has BOTW on Switch and I have it on WiiU, iv been playing the cemu version over the past few weeks and apart from a few crashes here and there, it already runs better than both the Switch and WiiU versions as both suffer from <20fps frame drops in certain areas. Its a fantastic game.

      1. So you’re saying the cemu version runs better than the WiiU and the Switch version? I’m finding that impossible to believe

        1. Aside from a few crashes and pics not showing up in the camera menu yet the game runs a lot better than the WiiU and Switch versions. It lags like hell on the WiiU in certain places and my nephew recons its the same on his Switch.

There are plenty of vids on Youtube to back this up if you want to see for yourself, including people playing it in 4k. I am using CEMU V1.8.1b and 1.30 version of BTW with the first two lots of DLC.
