YouTube’s ‘Unreal Gaming PC’ has shared a video showcasing Marvel’s Wolverine running on the latest version of KyTyPS5. And it appears that the game can hit 20 FPS at times, which is 20 times faster than what was previously possible.
The YouTuber used an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080. According to the overlay statistic, the game can allocate the entire VRAM of the RTX 4080. So, we don’t know whether these drops are due to a VRAM or CPU bottleneck.
Still, the results are impressive for such an early stage of PS5 emulation. The game can render real gameplay instead of only showing a boot screen or simple graphics. Not only that, but I don’t see any major visual issues. This shows that KyTyPS5 is making steady progress.
There are also clear limits. The frame rate is too low for normal play, and performance can change from one area to another. Although the game can hit 20 FPS in certain scenes, in most other areas it runs at 6-9 FPS. Compared to what was possible a week ago, this is still impressive.
For those interested, Unreal Gaming PC has used the Senaxx build bb8f49c. You can download it from here.
Speaking of an emulator for a Sony console, we also got a cool update for ShadPS4. It appears that someone has managed to get Infamous Second Son running on PC at native 4K using a ShadPS4 build that was fine-tuned using Claude Opus 5.5.
What’s crazy here is that this was done in just a day. Infamous Second Son had major issues with ShadPS4. But with the use of AI, in just one day, a custom build of it has been able to run it at an acceptable framerate. This is crazy.
Sadly, this custom build of ShadPS4 is not available for download. However, we have a video that shows Infamous Second Son running smoothly on it. So, be sure to watch it.
I know many people have an issue with emulators or projects that use AI. However, emulation may be one of the best uses of AI. It can help teams speed up their work by a huge amount.
It is already impressive that KyTyPS5 can launch and run Marvel’s Wolverine. With more work, I expect the emulator to make even more progress. It may even be able to launch Grand Theft Auto 6 much sooner than expected.
Stay tuned for more!

AI is genuinely making some insane progress when it comes to emulation, and I’m betting Sony is none too…
