According to Riot Games’ Director of Community Relations, Pendragon, the company had encountered recently issues with their chat services. And yesterday, some malicious users hacked them and gained access to an administrator account and had the ability to send chat alerts and edit forum posts.
Riot Games took steps to restore any impacted accounts and to protect against such incidents in the future.
