  1. Played the test and it ran beautifully (only had a couple minor bugs). There was a patch for Reach as well that fixed the locked 30/60fps animations so that can be enjoyed at uncapped framerates now.

I’ve been holding back on playing the entire series through until now. Might finally be time.

    1. About time, glad to hear they fixed the frame doubling issue in Reach, do you know if they fixed some of the 30 fps animations/cutscenes/particles in HCE Anniversary ?

      1. That issue was still present the last time I played Halo CE. The fps fix they deployed was only for Reach but one of the devs said they might use that same method the Halo CE as well.

My guess is it might be fixed when Halo 4 and all the patches come out. So don’t lose hope.

        1. Yep, it’s just weird that this issue was fixed by modders in the original Gearbox port a long time ago and 343 seems to have trouble with it, i didn’t want to uninstall the original just because it has smooth animations

          1. I said the exact same thing. Whatever they did for Reach worked perfectly (I have 165hz monitor). I tested it out on multiple enemies, allies and guns.

I’m sure they’ll apply that fix for Halo CE as well.

          2. I thought Halo Reach sound and animation issues wont be resolved at all but in the end they did it even though the audio issue required a lot of work, let’s give them the benefits of doubt, what’s really nice is that they’re aware of these issues, but anyway i still have the original with Chimera and Refined Campaign and i’m not planning to uninstall it even if they fix everything

          3. Whatever small team they have dedicated to working on MCC are the true halo vets.

The rest of the team working on Halo infinite are bunch of new young sjw gamers who don’t know jack sh*t about halo.

I’m glad at least we have Halo MCC and plus the team seems so dedicated to fixing it and adding in more new content.

Once all the fixes are done. At least all the game breaking ones. They said they would consider a mod tool.

After that skies the limit for us halo fans. So that’s the future of halo I look forward to

          4. Gotta disagree with you on this one. The original PC port is a clusterf)ck and you have to install a hundred mods to fix it. I installed it years ago but never bothered to play it.

If I were to play it today I would just download the MCC version and be done with it(I was never a fan of Halo).

          5. Yep, and here’s more

Get Halo Custom Edition + Refined maps + Chimera + DSOAL to fix all the issues with the Halo Gearbox port. You can even run at 120Fps with Chimera and change FOV, add UI changes (main menu modded and fixed per original ring) this legendary game deserves to be played on the best version, made passionately by the modding community fans.

      1. Use Reshade (if you have the hardware to run it).
        AdaptiveSharpen
        Clarity
        LumaSharpen
        Vibrance

These are always my go to for any game. Makes everything clean and crisp without sacrificing original look. (Plus it gets rid of the blurriness completely).

        1. The Nvidia sharpness slider is the way to go because it has also the option to ignore film grain, but generally they add a lot of shimmering and jaggies at 1080p, personally i can’t use any sharpness filter (from NV or Reshade) without downscaling via DSR

          1. I tried the Nvidia Sharpness and effects but its bugged for me. I get like 30-50fps drops but when I use Reshade it’s about 5-15. Reshae with AA completely gets rid of jaggies and blurriness at a small fps hit so I find it 100% worth.

Next year when they’re more available I’ll be switching from my 1080TI to RX 6800 XT (maybe a Ryzen cpu to pair it as well… hell maybe a whole new build honestly lol). 1440p 144+fps is the next big move for me.

          2. Maybe try to do a clean uninstall/reinstall of the driver.
I’d like to switch for AMD but their lack of a DLSS-like technology stopped me, i really want to support DLSS because it seems like the only way for now to get very high framerates with demanding scenarios (4K and/or RT)

          3. Yeah I tried that and a multitude of other solutions over a span of a few days so I just gave up.

AMD is working on their own DLSS implementation called Super Resolution. Idk why this part wasn’t reported on as much during the 6000 series announcement. RT (like any new tech will take time before it can be used at high framerates… remember when Tessellation and AA first came out. Literally ate performance)

I got into PC gaming (at least high end gaming) around the time the 1080 came out. After seeing how Nvidia treats their customers/market and AMD finally being able to truly compete with them on the high end level I won’t be supporting Nvidia going forward.

    2. Yeah it’s still butchered somewhat… not quite up to the original but not as bad as before their latest flight patch. Everything in the patch wasn’t implemented into Halo CE so who knows what will truly be included when Halo 4 launches.

  2. you can come to my house, take a bowl or something and scoop shet from my toilet and eat it with passion. the level of enthusiasm of doing that and getting a console game on PC is the same, specially the garbage that microshaft makes.

  3. I played the public beta, and it might be 343’s finest ports yet in the MCC. (Bearing some small bugs)

      1. “Campaign is not finished on Day 1, it will get content over the time.”

lol, why does every game need to be game as a service?

” Cortana will be Debra Wilson”

        why is she in everything?

    1. Halo franchise looks so cartoonish and it’s super over rated, Halo 4 looks different in a good way and it’s hated by most halo fans and this is another good reason to try it.

      1. I only play some of the 1st Halo back then so i don’t remember much, i think i’m going to try Halo 4.

98% of the new games are a total crap and made for specific kind of gamers, old gamers are turning back to the old stuff, the golden era when it’s all about gaming, no lgbt no sjw, no heavy multiplayer bull5hit.

        1. Halo 4 wasn’t that bad. I’d rank it last in my favorite halo games. so it still makes the list.

343i was just starting out. And they had some good ideas but it didn’t work out exactly as they wanted in halo 4.

For some reason for halo 5 they threw everything out the windowed. And made the garbage that is halo 5.

  4. So Microsoft wanted to release this piece of $hit game 2 days before Cyberpunk which is why the latter was moved to December 10. Doesn’t look like a coincidence.

  5. I’m stuck at Halo:OST, playing these for the first time and I’ve put the game on hold for a while now, just really hard to make myself go through it.
