In its latest Q&A, Rockstar revealed that the official PC requirements for GTA V will be announced in the coming week. Responding to a fan question, Rockstar confirmed that it is currently in the final stages of development on the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V, meaning that the game will actually hit our platform this January (hopefully).
As Rockstar responded when a fan asked them about the PC requirements of GTA V:
“Hi Alli, we’re presently in the final stages of development on the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V and hope to have confirmed official system requirements to share soon here at the Newswire, please stay tuned for that to be announced in the coming week. Thank you and we’re very excited to bring GTAV to the PC gaming community!”
So, the big moment is almost upon us everyone. Let’s hope that the game will be properly optimized and won’t perform as bad as GTA IV did.
According to the latest rumor, the team responsible for the PC version of GTA V is the team that developed the PC version of Max Payne 3. While this has not been confirmed as of yet, it will be interesting to see whether GTA V PC will be as polished as Max Payne 3 PC.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Well, let’s see if R* cares about PC.Max Payne 3 was great, and i’m hoping for a blast in this one too.
Yep, I think it’s the same team doing this port.
Well this will be interesting
Hopefully the long delay was worth the wait.
I really really hope that this game is well optimized and that the wait was worth it.. Ideally rocking 60fps maxed at 1440p on my 970. Running over homeless people at that kind of fidelity will be jaw dropping.
Console details yes, but 1440p + Ultra details + MSAAx4 @60fps on single 970GTX sounds too good man :). But we will see, maybe miracle will happen
Msaa might be to much I’m happy I enjoy fxaa to use it in every game
So far every console game runs 2x better on my PC, and that’s why I’m not worried about optimisation (at least console details should run without problems on modern PC’s). “Next gen” consoles share similar architecture, and if gta5 already run so well on xbox one/ps4, it will run even better on modern PC.
But ultra details (MSAAx4/8, and full LOD sliders etc) will be another story :D, these probably will require monster PC.
Finally. I just hope the wait is worth.
Really hoping this game uses 6 or more cores unlike gta4. Also hoping 2gb of vram is enough for high settings at 1080p.
Even if its a bad port, at least we will get to play it on max gfx and with better resolutions eventually, when the hardware gets even stronger. Like Crysis 1 or GTA 4. I couldnt max GTA4, but now it runs smooth as butter. I know it’s not a perfect solution, but far better than buying those weak “next gen” consoles ;p
2 years delay on PC (3 more months than next-gen version because of optimization), it better be as optimized as it gets or they just F’ing with us.
Keep calm…..breath taking
Please may my i5 2400 and GTX 560 still run it, please oh please , its gonna take another 2 months before I can finally build a new rig so yeah
Well let see:
Minimum: Intel Quad-core 2.8 GHz, 4GB RAM, GTX 4xx or Radeon 5xxx 1GB DDR5
Maximum: Intel i5 or higher, 8GB RAM, GTX 770 or Radeon R9 2xx 2GB DDR5.
Hope to not be too much higher than this specs. 😀
