Here is our first look at a third-person mod for Cyberpunk 2077

YouTube’s ‘Cineagle’ has shared a video, showcasing what a third-person mod for Cyberpunk 2077 could look like. While this mod is not available for download, it can give you an idea of what you can expect from a future one.

Now this initial version of this third-person camera mod is a bit unpolished. According to Cineagle, the first things that modders will have to do is improve the animations of the main character. Not only that, but the default posture of the main character is laughable in 3rd person perspective.

My guess is that modders will first release a mod that will enable a third-person mode for the entire game. When this will happen is anyone’s guess. Then, we might see some of them trying to fix and further improve it.

Naturally, we’ll be sure to let you anyone about such a mod the moment it gets out. Until then, you can watch the following video.

Before closing, you might be interested in the Enhanced Controls Mod for Cyberpunk 2077. This mod aims to improve the game’s mouse and keyboard controls. It’s also worth noting that CD Projekt RED has just released a 9GB update for the game.

Enjoy!

  1. First and last look, no one will re-write and write new animations for TPP camera without the tools, even when the tools will be out it’s gonna take long time to do and it’s not gonna be polished.

  2. 1st person was just a lazy reason to cut back on development costs. This should’ve been the first sign to gamers this game was being rushed

        1. Yeah… they never talked about doing a third person view, the first in engine trailer was 1st person… sure… lies..

          1. i’m sure first dude play this game he post third person view… just they can’t work for animation those fox lazy fk that

          1. In GTA V, the FPS parts are 200% more “immersive” than when it was in third-person. Same for Skyrim, which I would never even think about playing in third-person.

Maybe we don’t even have the same definition of the word “immersion”, though.

          2. I just searched this topic on Reddit to see what other people think and clearly, the vast majority of people agrees with me, sorry.
So, don’t say “your view is wrong” when you’re clearly in the minority.
I’m only saying that first-person view puts you in the “character’s eyes”, which I prefer in many RPGs when it’s available. It helps me to project myself into the world and the story, and not like I watch somebody else playing.
It’s OBVIOUSLY more immersive just because of this already.

          3. So a majority of le reddit morons agrees with you, meaning you are right. Ok, can’t disagree with that. You should play VR games from now on, because it’s not just the eyes, but the whole body.

          4. lol the usual epidermic reaction : “It’s not because the majority says one thing that this thing is right!”
But in this case, it is.
Anyway, I’m not even interested in Cyberpunk, but even if I was, I would definitely not want to play in third-person.

My experience is that third-person is very useful, and even necessary, for stealth games like Splinter Cell, for obvious reasons. I need to see where my character is exactly, and first-person view often prevents this.

It’s also necessary for Assassin’s creed because the “platforming” requires lots of precision.

In a RPG like Skyrim, though, even if it uses stealth too, it’s simplified, and I don’t really need it.
I assume that people prefer third-person for The Witcher 3 as well, especially because of the combat mechanics, but personally, I would prefer first-person in this game as well.(there’s a mod) Unfortunately, it wasn’t designed for that.

          5. “But in this case, it is.”

And why should i trust a guy like you again?

“My experience is that third-person is very useful, and even necessary, for stealth games like Splinter Cell, for obvious reasons. I need to see where my character is exactly, and first-person view often prevents this.

So third person is necessary to better control a character and their respective abilities, but that’s not immersive, because you are not a ninja in real life or a parkour champion, warrior, etc. and lacks the necessary finesse to peform that in first person.

          6. By the way, I really don’t see what incredible about being a gamer girl… Do you know that at least 50% of gamers are girls?
Maybe we usually write less on websites like this though, ok.

Here’s a picture for you anyway.
Oh wait, let me guess… Since you’re predictable, you’re going to say I borrowed that picture from my sister or my wife, or something. lol
Seriously, it’s time for you to accept that some gamers are girls, period. Nothing special and extraordinary about this.
Funny thing is, I’m anti-feminist, but I see it doesn’t help to be accepted in this community…

          7. Explain Deus Ex’s dual perspective implementation. I think those devs found a great way of meeting fans of both halfway, and it works great to boot.

Cdpkt had to cut corners with Cyberpunk and 3rd person was left in the cutting floor. This becomes abundantly clear when the game that sells itself as a highly customizable, jampacked with cosmetics experience wounds up making that an afterthought in the final product.

Maybe you should heed the advice dispensed here by others. Get on that VR train if you’re so hellbent of getting the most immersion out of your games. Just pls don’t die of motion sickness aka immersion od.

    1. I don’t need to feel like I’m in a dream world. I’d like games to remain games and I don’t mind being reminded that they’re only a simplification of what I’ll encouter in life by actually living it.

      1. Go ask what Assetto Corsa or Automobilista fans think about it : only 5% play with external view.

        “Dream world”? What?

That’s the opposite. The goal is to make it more realistic.
In racing games, I need to feel like I’m in the car, not like I’m watching a TV show.

        1. You know exactly what I mean. A dystopia where vegetating humans are lost in a virtual reality rivaling our own. More realistic does not necessarily mean better.

        2. if u like first person so much play VR games they perfect for … as useing keybord or controller u can play shooter games first person only and better play third person cuz this game not just a shooter game ther many things there fashion i can’t see my char how he look like or she look like and clubs and many many and game on ultra just stunin but what the point if u can’t see ur char ^ ^ and u can’t see any animation’s with full screen only throw first preson this is shiit for sure it’s not call of duty or survival’s u just have wierd mind ^^ my friend hhh
