As always, CD Projekt RED has included a hidden message in its latest trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. According to this hidden message, the PC version of the game will be DRM-free, there will be free DLCs and paid expansions similar to those of The Witcher 3, the game won’t have any micro-transactions and there will be previews soon based on the game’s E3 build.
Here is the entire hidden message that you can find if you pause the trailer at the end.
“It’s been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and… went dark. Normal procedure for these kinds of things – you announce a game and then shut up, roll up your sleeves, and go to work. We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.
As soon as we concluded work on Blood and Wine we were able to go full speed ahead with CP2077’s pre-production. But we chose to remain silent. Why? At some point, we made a decision to resume talking about the game only when we have something to show. Something meaningful and substantial. This is because we do realise you’ve been (im)patiently waiting for a very long time, and we wouldn’t want anyone to feel that we’re taking this for granted. On the contrary – it gives us a lot of extra motivation. The hype is real, so the sweat and tears need to be real, too :).
But to the point. Today is the day. If you’re seeing this, it means you saw the trailer – our vision of Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is in pieces, megacorporations control all aspects of civilised life, and gangs rule the rest. And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don’t let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a true single player, story-driven RPG. You’ll be able to create your own character and…, well, you’ll get to know the rest from what we show at our booth at E3. Be on the lookout for previews!
Before we finish, you probably have some questions, right?
When? When we told you we would only release the game when it’s ready, we meant it. We’re definitely much, much closer to a release date than we were back then :), but it’s still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required. Quality is the only thing that drives us – it’s the beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.
How big? Seriously big, but…, to be honest, we have no bloody clue at this point in time. Once we put it all together, we will openly tell you what you can expect. And we promise we’ll do this before we start talking about any pre-orders or ask anything of you.
Free DLC/Expansions/DRM? Expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3. As for DRM, CP2077 will be 100% DRM-free on PC.
Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts? Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a minute, do visit cyberpunk.net and share your opinion (about anything) with us. We read everything you post and we treat it very seriously.

6 months until it runs at 30fps on PS4 confirmed then. Won’t be touching this game at launch. I’m a Playstation console gamer, I know how hard it is for CDPR to get a console with pure GDDR5 architecture across its SKUs to get a game running at a decent level. Also, “DRM Free” confirmed, these guys do know what Microsoft tried to do in 2013 with DRM right?
This is no place for console “gamers”, you’ll get whatever your little box will be capable to run, now if you want the real thing, just ditch that little black shoe box.

“Quality is the only thing that drives us – it’s the beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.”
And that right there is why CD Projekt RED has commanded so much respect (and deservedly so). It’s rare to see a studio so committed to making a GOOD game.
Love the mindset!! Probly gonna throw dem my money. 80$ don’t care if it’s as good as TW3 ez 100$ still don’t care
It’s all nice but hope for a real gameplay demo.
this studio is not from earth 😀
too bad rockstar doing the opposite
The best of the best, if only others are like you CDPR – gaming would be a hell of a lot better. No DRM crap for Number 1!!
Microsoft made really good conference, we got games games games and thats how it should be. I think they are ones to beat and only ones who might do that is sony but i hope they will not, because sony shows no love to PC and i wont buy PSbox for few games a year. And i dont’t like controller in my hand for Arcade racers, Fighting games and Sport games anything else is, just stupid.
yeah i agree i would rather support MS than sony even though i own a PS4 it’s not for sony made games becuase i have no interest in them. SEGA is the reason i bought the PS4 persona and yakuza but anyway F sony they arent for the gamers they only care about selling their consoles and that’s why i could give one sh—t if they went bankrupt it would have zero effect on me and the PC space so why should i give a F about them
CDPR’s E3 builds and release versions of the game tend to differ drastically in terms of originally stated features both in gameplay mechanics and graphics. So take anything that CDPR award-winning PR department says with a Titanic-sized tub of salt.
well they have only stated its a SP RPG and wont feature DRM and Microtransactions. I think we can belive that cause thats what they usually do. We only saw a glimpse of Game World.
What I’m interested in is different classes, first person shooting, some fresh gameplay features and no repetitive monster’s nests clearing cyberpunk style. Oh and bring on some real cyberpunk feel and esthetics because so far it looks more like Watch Dogs 2 than Blade Runner.
I think day trailer took away some astehtics but gave us way more detail because of better vision. But at rainy night with more neon lighting up it would be perfect in my head. Probably we have seen far too many similar stuff always been in dark. No idea about gameplay, but classes or specialisatsions could be very easily in because you are not gerald this time and the trailer did not focus on the main character at all.

OK so character creation is back. I heard it was removed for a set character.
