It appears that Capcom may be working on a brand new Dead Rising game. Earlier today, Capcom announced that it will shut down Puzzle Fighter on July 31st and as the Japanese company stated, it will be now dedicating the focus of its Vancouver studio to its flagship Dead Rising franchise.
This could basically mean that a new Dead Rising, presumably Dead Rising 5, is currently under development. The last Dead Rising game that got out was Dead Rising 4. Dead Rising 4 came out in December 2016 and performed quite well on the PC platform. However, the game was also using the controversial Denuvo anti-tamper tech and was originally released exclusively on Microsoft’s Windows Store.
In April 2017, Capcom revealed that the game did not meet its expectations and its latest update was released in December 2017. Since then, Capcom has not released any new update or content, so it’s safe to assume that the Vancouver studio is now working on a new Dead Rising game.

so Vancouver studio will continue beat the series to death and rise it up again uh? DR 1 was the only one i really enjoyed, 2 was quite meh, 3 was terrible and 4 was a abomination. It’s clear Vancouver studio can’t see that what made DR1 fun was not KILLING A LOT OF ZOMBIES WITH WACKY WEAPONS.

because capcom hasnt learned that dead rising 2/3/4 and soon to be 5 were trash because they keep using a talent-less canadian company. they keep thinking they will make a good game but bluepoint of whatever the devs name is is trash

They better be bringing back the actual openness and sandbox nature that the first was so well known for. I loved 2 and 3 but that was only due to characters, 4 feels extremely lacking.

Well, fair you have an opinion, but you’re wrong, lol – Voalition made the game, those are the developers, THQ was nothing more than a publisher, so the game wasn’t a reskin because THQ was desperate, it was a reskin because they wanted to earn more money, by using no money to make a new game, that seems okay as they were also close to bankrupt at that time – I actually think they managed it quite well, i mean the game sold okay
