Activision and Infinity Ward have just revealed the official PC system requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The companies have also stated that this new COD game will only work with Intel and AMD CPUs that support AVX instructions.
For running the game, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Core i3 6100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 with 8GB of RAM. Players will also need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX960 or an AMD Radeon RX 470. Furthermore, the game will require 72GB of free hard-disk space at launch.
For gaming at 4K on Ultra settings with high framerates, Infinity Ward recommends using an Intel Core i9 9900K or an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX3080 or an AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT.
Infinity Ward has not shared any RT settings so we can safely assume that the game won’t have any Ray Tracing effects. After all, the recent PC trailer did not also feature any RT effects.
Activision will release this new COD game on October 28th. Those who have pre-purchased the game will be able to play the SP Mode one week prior to its official release.
