BioShock: The Collection has been officially announced, coming on September 13th

2K Games has announced that the BioShock: The Collection will be released on September 13th. 2K Games and Blind Squirrel Games have remastered the games for current-gen platforms, and you can view the debut trailer for BioShock: The Collection below.

BioShock: The Collection includes all three BioShock games, complete with all single-player DLC and a never-before-seen video series with commentary from Ken Levine.

2K Games noted that while BioShock 1 and 2 have been remastered for the PC, BioShock Infinite is not. According to the company, the original PC version already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings.

It’s also worth noting that if you already own BioShock 1, BioShock 2, and/or Minerva’s Den, you’ll get the upgraded versions free.

Here are the key features of the bundle:

BioShock

  •  The video series, “Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock,” featuring Ken Levine, creative director on BioShock and BioShock Infinite and Shawn Robertson, animation lead onBioShock and animation director on BioShock Infinite.
  • Museum of Orphaned Concepts: Walk through a Rapture-inspired virtual museum that gives you a behind-the-scenes look at discarded concepts that never made it into the original game.
  • Challenge Rooms: Outside the story of BioShock, tackle puzzles, splicers and Big Daddies. And achievements, of course.

BioShock 2 (**Multiplayer will not be included)

  • Minerva’s Den: A self-contained BioShock story, presenting a side of Rapture you’ve never seen before. Use expanded combat abilities with the experimental Ion Laser and chaotic Gravity Well Plasmid, unique to Minerva’s Den, as you face off against the Lancer Big Daddy.
  • Protector Trials: Take control of an Alpha Series Big Daddy woken out of hibernation just before the events of BioShock 2.

BioShock Infinite

  • Burial at Sea – Episode 1 & 2 Add-On Packs: This major two-part DLC pack completes theBioShock trilogy by taking the series back to where it all began. Return to Rapture just before the events of the original BioShock!
  • Clash in the Clouds Add-On Pack: Face 60 waves of challenges across four additional maps for leaderboard glory and unlock areas to explore in The Columbian Archaeological Society hub museum.
  • Columbia’s Finest Pack: Combines the contents of the Industrial Revolution Pack and theUpgrade Pack and includes 500 Silver Eagles, five Lock Picks, six unique Gear items, and two weapon upgrades: Comstock’s China Broom Shotgun and Comstock’s Eagle Eye Sniper Rifle.

  1. “According to the company, the original PC version already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings.”

Another publisher thinking consoles first smh.

      1. Can you crop that screenshot you just posted? its showing my real email address and name. its private info tnx

  2. “It’s also worth noting that if you already own BioShock 1, BioShock 2, and/or Minerva’s Den, you’ll get the upgraded versions free”

    Honestly, wasn’t expecting that..

EDIT: just wondering, where did you get the info that these are free upgrades to existing owners? Can’t quite find it on their official site or announcement trailer.

    1. Yeah, this as an especially interesting tidbit. Awesome if it’s true, since I already have 1+2 with the Minerva’s Den DLC.

      1. Yeah definitely. Really interested to see what’s been changed. Hopefully quality of life fixes like FOV and a more robust mouse sensitivity setting is put in place. Regardless, I’m excited to get another reason to play through again.

    2. It’s on Rock Paper Shotgun. If you own Bioshock 2 on Steam, just go to the game in your library, and there’s a link to the story there.

      1. Probably gonna be still much cheaper than the collection even if you buy the DLC separately.

If it’s $20 tho, this might be a better deal.

  3. i wonder if they are using UE3 or UE4. If i am not mistaken, Bioshock 1 was made using UE 2.5.

      1. Did you actually play infinite? And it’s not objectively trash and saying that only makes you look stupid.

        1. well trash might be a little harsh, but the first game was sooooo over rated and that’s the one i was referirng to as “trash”

          1. ”STOP LIKING THAT THING SO MUCH, I’M JEALOUS BECAUSE I DIDN’T ENJOY IT AS MUCH”

        2. Bioshock Infinite is trash, the ending can be summed up with “No jon U R the demon” 1 is great, 2 is mediocre.

          1. Nope, its a pretty easy ending to understand. Then again I only got 1 ending and never replayed it so you might be right, But that 1 ending just pissed me off so much I felt like the entire series just insulted me.

          2. Compared to gaming overall infinities ending is one of the most complex. You either didnt get it or you are just wrong.

      2. Honestly IMHO…Bioshock 1 is definitely one of the top 3 games I have ever played, in terms of FPS!
The setting was unique and the presentation was brilliant!

  4. It’s on Rock Paper Shotgun. If you own Bioshock 2 on steam just go to the game in your library, and there’s a link to the story there.

  5. I’m glad they’re updating the PC versions.

I heard Bioshock 1 on PC has some audio issues. Is that right?

    1. Yeh the audio can cut out quite frequently when you have several sound cues happen at the same time. This was most apparent for me when I had a flying drone next to me fighting the mobs.

  6. Interesting that Bioschock Bundle was my very first games on my STEAM account back in 2013!

Didnt had even a PC to play it as a former PS3 user!

I chosed a Gaming PC instead of a vaguely announced PS4.

Well got a PS4 early this year! haha

  7. “It’s also worth noting that if you already own BioShock 1, BioShock 2, and/or Minerva’s Den, you’ll get the upgraded versions free.”

How does that work for non steam box copy owners? I own Bio1 on disc

  8. So, first Skyrim Special Edition PC is a free upgrade for all Skyrim Legendary Edition PC owners, & now Bioshock Collection PC is a free upgrade for all Bioshock 1-2 + DLC PC owners?

We can’t possibly be seeing the start of a trend here, are we? O.o

  9. I’m liking this whole “free to owners of the original” trend. First skyrim SE and now these.

  10. “Folks who own the originals will get the updated versions free. 2K say, “if you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, and/or Minerva’s Den on Steam, you will be able to upgrade to the remastered version of the respective title(s) for free after release. It’s a circus of values!”

  11. So Minerva den is required to get the collection for free or just 3 main base is sufficient?
