BattleBit Remastered feature

BattleBit Remastered has sold 1.8 million units in two weeks

BattleBit Remastered released two weeks ago on PC and took Steam by storm. Developed by three people, SgtOkiDoki, Vilaskis and TheLiquidHorse, this indie shooter has sold 1.8 million units in its first two weeks.

HowToMarketAGame, who talked with SgtOkiDoki, revealed that the game had over 800.000 wishlists before launch which resulted in over 87.323 simultaneous players. And, after two weeks, the game is closing to two million sold units.

BattleBit Remastered is a low-poly, massive multiplayer FPS, supporting 254 players per server. In this game, players can battle on a near-fully destructible map with various vehicles.

Basically, it’s Battlefield without its fancy graphics. The game has an enhanced netcode for an FPS game, and packs destructible environments and levolution. So, if you like the Battlefield games, you should definitely check it out.

It’s also refreshing to hear such success stories. After all, a lot of indie games struggle to make a profit. In this case, though, the foundations appear to be solid. Let’s also not forget that BattleBit Remastered is in an Early Access phase. So, in theory, the game’s sales will be boosted once it leaves that phase.

Enjoy!

  1. Not really my thing, but I can see why multiplayer pvp addicts would be into this. Engine would clearly allow for more players at once, fast gameplay and possibly makes it easier to create new maps. Might even be simpler to patch bugs when you haven’t got ellaborate graphics to worry about.
