Warner Bros and Rocksteady have finally released the Interim performance patch for Batman: Arkham Knight. This patch brings optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage, reduces frame rate hitches, fixes hitches when running on mechanical hard drives and improves performance on all GPUs.
This patch will be auto-downloaded from Steam the next time you start it. Do note that the game is still not available for purchase, so this will benefit only those that already own it.
Here is the changelog for the Interim PC patch:
- Reduced frame rate hitches
- Optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage
- Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
- More Comprehensive In-Game Settings
- Fixed low resolution texture bugs
- Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)
And here is what Rocksteady is currently working on for future updates:
- Adding support for SLI and Crossfire
- Adding support for the latest DLC & Season Pass content
- Adding support for additional updates such as Photo Mode
- Continued improvements and bug fixing for a Windows 7 specific memory issue that occurs on configurations with 8GB of system RAM and some NVIDIA GPUs during extended game play
- Continued improvements for Windows 10 specific issues on systems with some AMD GPUs

Deserves to be news of the week for Batman fans!!! But i heard that now, whitish blue lines
appear during cutscenes.
blue line was there for me in cutscenes from the beginning but white line is a new annoying addition not only in cutscenes but everywhere
ground and wall textures still need to be fixed since they are really low res… it cant be tolerated for a game released in 2015.
They say Reduced Hitching for a reason. I tested this out on my single 970 since SLI is still broken along with crossfire. Keep in mind I set everything to it’s highest settings and thought about it going over the v-ram limit the game says it wants.
But even when I did other test with graphics options going below the v ram limit I still found stuttering. Also this is only a intern patch. It’s only 626megs. Meaning I would hope they did not spend a little over two months on just a 626meg patch…. I also did the test on a mechanical hd since most people said they have even worse problems then with a SSD. It is a improvement but still needs more work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLbOSvq2ieA
For me, it works the same…im so dissapionted..nvidia worked on that, what are they doing?
Maybe, they sholud release it again in bout one year, with unreal engine 4, frostbite, sth like that, maybe its running great then 😀 after..well…a year 😀
Keep in mind it is a intern patch. And not the full on Patch…
I hope youre right! 😉 and it works after the full patch
well yeah 626 meg’s… Two months for 626 megs is just odd even for patch standards with so much wrong with the game. So this is more then likely a test patch to see how stable performance is getting. I expect the full patch to be over 4 gig’s
Thats right!
This morning i thought…what? 600 mb??? i expected bout..3 to 4 to 5 gigs 😀 ..as you said 😉
well the reality is looking like 8.5 – 10 gig’s lol
maybe well get a 2d runner thing…im sure..it would run great! 😀
You mean “interim”? Intern means something completely different and makes your statement seem a bit comical considering the technical state of AK’s PC port.
yeah that’s what I meant and besides the game is still a hot mess
Keep in mind if they just removed Denuvo the mechanical HD streaming issue would disappear. It is more important for them to maintain DRM on a broken game than to do what is necessary to fix the game for the thousands of people who bought the game or expected a functioning game to be bundled with their video card. Someone needs to just sue Rocksteady for this garbage and send a message to AAA developers to cut this sh*t out.

Ok, lets get something straight, NVIDIA did NOT work on this game. All they did was incorporate PhysX into the engine, slapped their name on it, and the developers did the rest.

Holy s**t, at 1:30 there’s a massive frame drop from 70 to 35. Was that the HDD?
it happens with SSD too, that random drops and 1sec freezes both on Win7 and Win10.
could of very well been. that’s why I did the video on a Mechanical HD XD
crashes at startup now…
Remove Reshade/SweetFX. It was crashing the game for me.
It works like sh*t to be honest.
i7 (Haswell), gtx titan, ssd..i mean..wtf?!
Ive been waiting for two months..just for getting dissapointed by these untalented bigheads
that white line in the bottom of screen annoys me, the blue one before the patch was already annoying but they added a new white one on top of that (pics below- not only in cutscenes but everywhere). also game now has 1sec freezes when i dive from up high to the ground or your finishing an objective or before and after the cutscenes. and still no free games from warner, ubisoft did it, these clowns should do it too, not to mention that these thieves are still using that f**ktard drm like we are criminals.
if you talking about denuvo, mad max and mgs v use it too.
Anyway hardline was cracked so was this, so i dont see the point, it just stops the first week piracy. But you see this game is a fine example of how pirates win again.
It is a broken piece of crap with endlless dlc. So all pirates have to do is wait until the game is fully patched with all the dlcs released and a “free” FULL version fully patched with all the dlcs will be released. After all when games like batman, unity and far cry 4 release in such a bad state there is no reason to toss 60 bucks. So regardless if you buy the game or you belong to the YARRRR scene, playing a game on launch is a very bad idea and a waste of time and money.
Honestly they should do what croteam does, fill their games with triggers to check if you are running the game properly or you use steam emulation and cracks. Even now getting that game to work properly without buying it is a very hard thing to do since the game constantly checks if you are running it through steam in various areas of the game and it creates a custom install for your hardware so you cant use someones else version of the game. Every crack needs to be unique.
Obviously most of those things have been fixed by the crackers but it shows you that nearly a year the game remains uncracked since the pirated version is a mess and thus it is not worth pirating.
At one hand we got croteam’s idea which is to make the pirated version a pain to play or ever bother, then you got denuvo whose idea is temper protection which means that you cant mess with it, but it messes with your pc since it needs to put the data somewhere that you cant access in order to crack it, by constantly writing and deleting data.
Still a big step up from ubisoft online drm and securum CANCER….but i think the best way is to do what rockstar did, large part of the game is online with constant updates and new things, so it doesnt worth pirating.
At this point pc sales are booming, but the likes of EA and WB prefer to make sure that they dont lose a a single “potential” dime from third world countries with their protection, rather spending some of that money to fix their godamn ports.
true.
if i knew batman is going to use denuvo i wouldn’t touch it. i bought MGS GZ full priced to support a game that is coming to PC after decades but despite the good sales, in TPP they decided to use that peace of crap drm again, well i learned my lesson the hard way and i’m happy for not going down the same road again with TPP.
constant updates and a good service/support is always the best way to fight piracy, sales for witcher 3 and cities skyline will prove that. but no, EA/WB/Ubi are going to restrict consumers and treat them like murderers. no support, no updates, most of the time unplayable launches, rehashed releases and nasty DRMs.
buying phantom pain is pointless konami is not gonna make any big games for a long time.
You can smell from a mile away that every single ubisoft game is gonna use denuvo and the sales will NOT increase. Since the pc version will be a mess.
Im so happy for trading a Batman AK STEAM Key for a MadMax gift!
hahaha!
The patch works for me. I can finally run the game max settings with a framerate higher than a single digit. There are options to raise the framerate to 60-90fps, but it looks about 45fps to me, and there are still frame hitches, but much, much less frequently. The game is playable now.
