Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is a game that I was kind of looking forward to. However, it appears that the PC version will not be that optimized for our platform. According to early reports, the game does not support mouse on the PC.
Not only that, but the game does not display proper keyboard keys on screen. Instead, it will display the Xbox gamepad buttons and nothing more. By using its keyboard configuration tool, PC gamers will then simply have to figure out which key does what.
This is a step backwards for KOEI Tecmo as both Nioh and Dynasty Warriors 9 at least supported the mouse. Furthermore, Attack on Titan 2 was a pretty solid PC product that even displayed proper keyboard keys. I seriously don’t know why KOEI Tecmo dropped the ball with Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout.
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout will come out on October 29th and I strongly suggest avoiding it unless you use a gamepad. Honestly, it’s really disappointing witnessing PC games in 2019 lack such basic features. Seriously KOEI, what the hell?

Then why consoles are trying to add M+K compatibility? consoles and their accesories are toys, get over it.
Because of cross play. But for everything else they aren’t really trying. Gaming has always been done on some form of controller. Arcades, classic consoles, etc. Mouse and keyboard are office and productivity tools. They don’t feel good in your hands and are a bastardization of gaming.

Halo uses some cheatin’ a*s auto aim to make you feel like a bada*s. There’s a skull in Halo 2 you can turn on to disable it. You should try it sometime, and tell me it isn’t akward as f*ck with a controller.
It’s called aim assist. It’s not the same thing as auto aim. And yes, it’s absolutely necessary for shooters on controller. Never said controllers were the most accurate tools for shooters. And if aim assist was as big of a crutch as you think, then every console player would be an aiming god, which is definitely not the case. But once you get good at it, you can definitely be very effective.
The way I see it, controllers are good for games with a lot of driving, (GTA) or games that give me a sh*t ton of different buttons to keep up with, (Arkham games) but not much else.
Trolling aside, for me personally, anything that requires aiming I use a mouse. Everything else, controller all the way.

Funny since keyboard and mouse players on PC are constantly complaining about controller players in Destiny 2 lmao. And I personally know controller players who dominate on PC in Fortnite and Call of Duty.
I wonder why. Couldn’t have anything to do with the amount of auto-correction of a shot for a hitbox and auto-aiming. No no, it’s something else, not the game cheating for people using a controller.

I dont know why people are buthurt, but i dont play competitively, i like to REST BACK and relax not sitting straight clinching my a*s, also my PC monitor is 55inch OLED so even if i want to game with mouse i cant, I got used to gamepad and love it

I HATE consoles..NO, games are NOT meant to be played that way..The only games I can see using a controller on are fighting games like Street Fighter! Console gamepads are HORRIBLE..absolutely HORRIBLE!

This is status quo for Atelier games on PC. Since I played them I can tell other things to expect.
– There will be no graphic settings other than resolution
– You can use any resolution even 4k, if you have trouble with launcher you can set resolution in ini file. No ultra-wide support, only 16:9.
– frame-rate is uncapped so 144fps is possible with a beefy machine.
– Japanese Audio only
– full screen and windowed only. If you want borderless windowed mode you need to use something like Borderless Gaming app.
– more demanding than it looks. You probably need a 1080 TI for 4k60fps, possibly a 2080 Ti if you want no frame-drops.
I was going to use a controller anyways but no Mouse support! F u. I may use Gamepad but I do play Mouse and keyboard.
I believe this is in-house PC port made by single Japanese guy with basic knowledge of PC enviroment,not outsourced to profesional PC Dev. Thats why we got sh**y product..smh
Sh*t like this never fails to amaze me. On one end japanese publishers b*tch about low sales on PC but then they fail to implement basic f*king function like resolution switching(Dark Souls,Mind Zero), PC interface icons(almost all console ports) or like now keyboard/mouse support.
I mean what exactly do they expect to sell with products like these. Can you imagine a console game launching with only PC icons and no support for analog controls? It would be a f*king s**tstorm but somehow this is considered normal for PC.
To these days there’s – if I remember correctly – literally 0 console ports that support mouse properly. Aka gives us camera lock mode, instead of forcing us to use gamepad workarounds like target lock.

I agree. NOT having mouse support is idiotic!!!! I will still probably get a gamepad to play on the PC, but until there is mouse support, I will NOT be happy! You are better off getting a torrent of it until they make the price justifiable..without support for the mouse, they can screw off!
