Modder ‘Shish15’ has released a must-have 8K Texture Pack for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition that overhauls its landscapes. As the modder noted, these new textures aim to provide realism, regionality and natural diversity to Skyrim’s landscapes.
This pack is also available in 2K and 4K versions. However, if you have enough VRAM, we highly recommend the 8K version. This 8K pack is 6GB in size and you can download it from here.
Needless to say that this texture pack won’t work with any other pack that alters the terrain textures. In other words, you won’t be able to use it alongside Skurkbro’s Texture Pack.
However, this pack is compatible with every other texture pack we’ve shared. For instance, you can use it with this 4K texture pack for shields. You can also use it alongside these two 8K Texture Packs. Additionally, you can combine it with this 4K Texture Pack for animals and creatures, as well as this 4K pack that overhauls all dungeons.
Lastly, here are some screenshots that showcase these new 8K textures.

Ah yes, texture packs for GPU’s with 24GB of VRAM…
some people do work hard and have gpus with 24gb , why deprive them from something they can use ? it s just a mod some can benefit from it some others can’t
stop whining and go work on yourself
Do you think it’s relevant news to the 90+% who don’t have that much VRAM in a single GPU?
From your logic, people should ask Ferrari to stop making super cars cause 99% of people can’t afford it
It s crazy how a lot of people react to things, when the author had 9900k many people started to say he should upgrade the cpu is obsolete, when he upgraded to 7950x3d many other people started to call it showing off and people complaining about how it s pc is top high end and should stop showing off in every article and stating that 90% of people have weaker pcs. comon people must stop seeing the negatif side of everything, it s not healthy
Who’s talking about making it? I’m talking about reporting on it like it’s an important find.
My RTX 3070 Ti can’t handle more than “2K” texture mods in Skyrim VR (haven’t bothered in flatscreen in many years, but my GTX 1080 Ti I had then had 11GB VRAM), and the two most common GPU’s are the GTX 1060 and the GTX 1650 which have less than 8GB of VRAM.
As for John’s CPU, why do I care? I’m happy he finally got an upgrade. It has nothing to do with my off-the-wall remark about this texture mod.
I used a 3070 Ti with a lot of 4K textures @ 1440p and didn’t have a problem. 930 mods and my Data folder was over 270 GB including several 4K texture mods from this same mod author.
In fact I just deleted it a couple of days ago to make room on my NVMe drive so I could replace all the crappy 1k textures in Elden Ring with 86 GB of 4k textures …. Elden Ring was a disappointment using lower quality textures than DS3 …. In fact a lot of the textures were taken from DS3 which were reused in Elden Ring but at a lower quality
Apparently the game engine isn’t good enough to select from multiple textures resolutions based on the hardware used so they just used crappy textures for the entire game so they could make their Open World work on last gen potato consoles …..
Since I play in VR my resolution is over 5000×2500. Between that and other applications wasting gigabytes of VRAM, I run out way to easily.
You’re implying that people who don’t have cutting edge GPU’s don’t work hard. Maybe they have more important things in their lives to spend their cash on. My GFX card is a few years old, not because I can’t afford a newer one but (a) it serves its purpose and runs all the games I enjoy (b) I don’t agree with supporting the quite frankly extortionate prices on some new cards (how will they learn if we continue to support high price marking)
It’s great.
As great as the very first HD texture packs I started using in 2012.😅
I’m not kidding, go search on Youtube the first modded Skyrim videos from 2011-2012, it already looked like that. But modders always pretend their work is the best because it’s more recent, of course.
Reshade kinda improved, but not that much.
Just checked my Skyrim folder.
We had textures like that in 2013 already.
