The Witcher 3 Song of Wind Fan Expansion

Song of Wind is a new fan expansion for The Witcher 3 Next-Gen

Modder ‘Roi_Jean’ has released a new fan expansion for The Witcher 3 that seems to work with both the vanilla and the next-gen versions. This fan expansion, called Song of Wind, adds two new quests, new dialogues and new game mechanics.

Going into more details, in this mod, Geralt goes on the hunt for Whispering Island, a place that nobody seems to know about. Designed as a new mini ‘expansion’, only the first two quests are currently available.

The modder made the mod using the RedKit as part of CDPR’s modding contest. This is why the expansion only has two quests. And sadly, there is no word yet on whether the modder plans to finish it. Still, this is a cool fan expansion that offers new free content to the game.

Moreover, Song of Wind features new dubbed dialogues for Geralt and the NPCs. Now what’s cool here is that the modder has not used any AI tools. Instead, he just mixed lines that were in the original game differently to make new sentences.

Speaking of The Witcher 3 Next-Gen, you may also want to take a look at these other mods for it. For instance, you can download a really cool first-person mod. Furthermore, the Characters Reworked Project improves the quality of over 100 characters. Let’s also not forget this mod that lets you kill most in-game NPCs. Then we have this mod that overhauls the game’s combat with better animations, better targeting and new dodging mechanics. In July 2024, we also shared mods that restored the boat races and added 15 new quests. Plus, a modder has restored the reputation system that CDPR cut from the game.

In December 2023, we shared this mod that restores content that was cut from all previous The Witcher games. Then, in February 2024, we shared a mod that attempted to remove the fake “hero” light from the game’s cut-scenes. There is also this mod that allows you to explore a part of the world from the first The Witcher game in TW3. Oh, and don’t forget this mod that allows you to ride a Griffin.

We also have some mods for those playing with Ray Tracing. The RTX Mirrors Mod adds proper reflections to the game’s mirrors. Then we have this mod that improves the fire effects via Ray Tracing Global Illumination. And finally, this mod fixes the Ray Tracing bleach issues.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Embracing mods genuinely makes game companies respectable. Glad that CDPR stands again and I hope they learned from cyberpunk

    1. they deckared they are woke, put up a video "out commitment to esg" and hired the writer who said "we need to pull all levers for queer representation in the industry" May they eat sht and die.

        1. Appearing isnt making sure every game has multiple queers in it.

This is clearly an agenda and it will make every franchise cringe as queers are not serious, they are degenerate disgusting pervert clowns who think they are important, they should be mocked and ridiculed not promoted in every serious game that they dont belong. Any game pandering to these rainbow clowns is assured to be stupid and cringe.

    isnt that worse than ai?

  3. Huge downside is you can't use this with other mods according to the mod's author because of the changes it makes to the base game. That severely limits it's usefulness for anything other than a tech demo
