Grand Theft Auto San Andreas new feature

SA_DirectX 3.0 Beta Overhaul Mod for GTA San Andreas adds SSR, SSAO, Rain Drops & more

In August 2018, we informed you about a graphical overhaul mod for Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, SA_DirectX 2.0. And earlier this week, modder ‘Makarus’ released a brand new beta version of it.

SA_DirectX 3.0 Beta adds new Reflections (SSR), Volumetric Clouds, Screen Space Reflections, SSAO, GodRays and Rain drops. Additionally, it packs some lighting tweaks and improvements.

Unfortunately, this beta build is behind a Patreon wall. Still, Makarus plans to release the mod to the public once it hits a more stable /final version. Until then, you can go ahead and download its previous version. We also suggest using this AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack.

In order to showcase the improvements that this mod brings to the table, the modder also released the following video.

Theoretically speaking, Take-Two will not take it down. I mean, the company has not taken down its previous version, and this is simply a graphical mod and nothing more. It’s not a remake or a remaster in a different game/engine. But then again, this is Take-Two we’re talking about.

Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more!

  1. DirectX 3.0? Is this some sick joke? Is this to make the game run on the original Voodoo Graphics, Riva 128, Matrox Mystique, etc.? Then later they add support for DirectX 5.0? Then DirectX 6.0?

    1. Idk if you are that dumb or this is a joke/prank/sarcasm…
Whatever it is, it’s a proof that your brain is thin like snake’s a*s.

      1. I don’t know man, thinking about “DirectX” was also my first reaction when I saw the title though.?
Brings me back to my good old 90s where I had to install new versions of DirectX from CDs which were included with gaming magazines.

    2. You just made a joke out of yourself. This has nothing to do with Microsoft DirectX directly. You think DirectX 3.0 supports Godrays and SSAO??? It’s just the NAME of the mod…. Jesus fk man

  2. Remake status: Canceled! lmao
How are Rockstar going to show off their remaster or remake now? There’s no way they added 3D clouds and high quality models like this modder. Plus whatever they do when remaking the game will break it somehow which will result in the original still being the best way to play San Andreas. This seems to be a law when it comes to remaster/remake games. They just can’t help breaking something essential.

  3. People complain about companies taking down mods, but no wonder they do when modders have the gull to charge for it…
