Need for Speed Carbon Just Got an RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod

Modder ‘xoxor4d’, the man behind the amazing GTA 4 RTX Remix Mod, has released a Path Tracing Mod for Need for Speed: Carbon. This mod will overhaul this old NFS game. So, make sure to grab it if you are a die-hard NFS fan.

Need for Speed: Carbon launched in 2006 as the tenth installment in the Need for Speed series. Set after the events of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, the game follows the player as they dive back into illegal street racing across the fictional Palmont City. The story centers on reclaiming control of the city from rival street-racing gangs, all while navigating intense races and territorial battles.

Going into more details, this RTX Remix Mod brings a custom car paint shader. There is a dynamic wetness code with puddles, raindrops, occlusion checking, and per drawcall tweaks. The mod comes with logic to aid with drawcall modifications, as well as Anti Culling code and per-mesh adjustable preculling (occlusion).

To showcase the new Path Tracing lighting, the modder shared the following video. This will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it. So, be sure to check it out.
