Modder ‘1vierock29’ has just released a 10GB HD Texture Pack for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. This pack will greatly enhance the textures for grass, stones, rocks, floors, and walls. So, make sure to get it if you are currently playing it.
Before continuing, I want to make it crystal clear that this mod will NOT overhaul all of the game’s textures. As I said, it only enhances those I mentioned above.
My guess is that the modder has used AI tools to upscale the original textures. As such, the modded textures retain the art style of the originals but look sharper and more detailed.
In my opinion, this is a must-have mod for everyone who plays Monster Hunter Stories 3. The reason I’m saying this is because the vanilla version has some truly awful textures. They look really, really bad.
At the end of the article, you can find some comparison screenshots. These perfectly showcase the improvements that this pack brings to the table. As you will see, the vanilla textures look awful. But now, thanks to this mod, you can at least be able to enjoy the game’s world. I mean, look at the rock in the third comparison. The vanilla version looks like something you’d see in a Nintendo 64 game. And no, I’m not exaggerating here.
Those interested can go ahead and download the mod from this link. To install it, you’ll also need REFramework. Once you have downloaded it, you can extract dinput8.dll from the zip file into your Monster Hunter Stories 3 game install folder. You can then put the .pak on the ‘Folder ”pak_mods” or create pak_mods where is the MONSTER_HUNTER_STORIES_3_TWISTED_REFLECTION.exe. Then, you’ll have to enable the custom PAKs from REFramework. And that’s it.
You can also find AI-enhanced texture packs for many more games. For instance, we have packs for Far Cry 3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Blood 2, Dark Souls 2, FEAR, and Batman: Arkham Asylum have also received their own. Then we have those for Resident Evil: Revelations, Revelations 2, Resident Evil HD REMASTER, Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 7, and Tomb Raider: Legend. Let’s also not forget this one for Palworld and this one for Thief 2014. In September 2025, we also shared one for Fallout: New Vegas. On top of that, you can find similar mods for Baldur’s Gate 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, GTA 4, NieR: Automata, and BioShock Infinite.
