Andrew Coyte and 3lric are currently working on a remake of Resident Evil Gaiden in the classic Resident Evil 2 game. As the title implies, this mod will recreate this exclusive Game Boy Color game, allowing more gamers to actually experience it.
While there isn’t any ETA on when it will come out, you can find below its debut trailer. This fan remake will be using classic RE camera viewpoints and graphics. In other words, expect it to look and play similar to the classic Resident Evil PSX games. And, as you may have guessed, it will have tank controls.
In case you weren’t aware of, Resident Evil Gaiden is an action-adventure game that came out in 2001. The story revolves around a viral outbreak on a passenger ship and has Leon S. Kennedy and Barry Burton return as protagonists. Do note though that Gaiden is non-canon, as its plot is contradicted by the main series in key parts.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
