Yesterday, we informed you about AMD FSR 2.0 going open source. And today, modder “PotatoOfDoom” released an early version of a mod for Cyberpunk 2077 that adds support to AMD’s latest upscaling tech.
Cyberpunk 2077 was originally supporting AMD FSR 1.0 and NVIDIA DLSS. As such, it will be interesting to see some comparisons between DLSS and FSR 2.0.
PotatoOfDoom has provided a comparison between FSR 1.0 (left) and FSR 2.0 (right). And as we can clearly see, the image quality of FSR 2.0 is superior. This is to be expected of course as FSR 2.0 is miles better than FSR 1.0. Thus, this mod is a must-have for all those non-RTX GPU owners that want to gain more performance.
You can download this FSR 2.0 mod from here.
Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, we also suggest taking a look at these other mods. The Rebalance Megamod attempts to overhaul numerous aspects of the game, such as the AI, armors, perks, melee, player stats, weapons and more. There is also an enhanced Photo Mode Unlocker that you can download. Let’s also not forget the amazing Metro System Mod. And lastly, there is a mod adds a flying mechanism to all cars.
Enjoy!

wait what? how can they do that? don’t they need motion vectors and stuff only devs can provide?
It’s a DLSS wraper. Think DXVK as a wrapper of DirectX by running on Vulkan.

Its good now
That screenshot comparison doesn’t look encouraging, I don’t think it’s implemented properly.
This is mod. Not implementation by game developer.
it looks exactly as one would expect. FSR1 was a joke and a AMDrone cope. FSR2 looks sharp enough to be playable without eye strain. what more did you expect?
It says FSR 2.0 incase you can’t read the title.
This is actually really cool. Prospect of modders being able to add TAA/FSR 2.0 to any game that doesn’t have it is… actually pretty f*king awesome.
I wonder how feasible it will be to add FSR 2.0 to more DLSS games or better yet, any game.
I had a feeling the moment the source code for FSR 2.0 was released, people are going to get creative with it and get it working in ways it wasn’t supposed to do and with games that don’t support it and we’re seeing early signs of that already.
With that said, it might be the case that this is working because Cyberpunk has DLSS support, FSR 2.0 isn’t as easy to implement into games like 1.0 is but people are creative so who knows.
what this modder did can only be done for games that have DLSS already. So, for example, we can’t add this to Elden Ring even though it has TAA cause the devs are just lazy c*nts
kinda pointless because you need a RTX GPU to run the game properly any way.
I’m tempted to try it with CP2077. I just tried GOW with FSR 2 in my weak pc (gtx960) in 1080p with FSR setting balanced. The difference was huge in my opinion. I got sharp image, good fps (very playable where before the fps is unplayable in my pc). I’m hoping much more games or at least modders implement this to other games, since i might finally play that fancy new games in my 10 year old pc.
