Baldur’s Gate 3 fans, here is something special for you today. Modder ‘Relysia’ has released a new mod that adds an over-the-shoulder third-person camera to the game. This will completely change the way you experience this RPG. As such, I highly recommend trying it.
In this over-the-shoulder mode, the camera stays close behind the player to keep a consistent third-person view. During actions such as aiming spells, jumping, or inspecting objects, the camera briefly switches back to the standard view. As soon as the action ends, it automatically returns to the over-the-shoulder view.
The mod also includes a dynamic field of view (FOV). The camera smoothly zooms out while you run, making movement feel faster and more natural.
The camera also adjusts its height automatically when your character crouches or stands up. In addition, it changes its height to match the size of your character, helping the view feel more natural for different character heights.
Finally, according to its creator, the mod is best experienced with a controller. However, it also works great on keyboard & mouse.
All in all, this is a really cool mod that most of you should try. You can go ahead and download it from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a video for it.
Speaking of Baldur’s Gate 3, you may want to try this cool mod for it. This is a real-time combat mod. As its title suggests, it turns this turn-based RPG into an action RPG. In its current state, the Brawl – Real Time Combat Mod is only meant to be used with standalone game modes, like Trials of Tav. However, its creator is working on adding it to the SP campaign.
Another cool mod is this one, which adds a Warcraft-inspired custom campaign to the game. Forsaken is basically a recreation of the Undead starting zone “Tirisfal Glades” from World of Warcraft (Classic/Vanilla).
In October 2024, we also shared a video that showcased the game via a first-person perspective. This is another cool concept, though it takes a lot of mods to make it work. Still, if you ever wanted to play BG3 in first-person, you can do so.
In January 2026, we shared a mod that injected a dynamic behavior system into your party members. Thanks to that mod, your companions will automatically light nearby torches, candles, and lamps. If they stand near a chair, bench, or bed, they might sit down or take a short nap, which gives them a small amount of health back. They can also admire paintings, look closely at statues, check themselves in mirrors, or poke around strange devices like globes, telescopes, or old machines.
And that’s not all. You can also download this HD Texture Pack. Created by lexo1000, this pack overhauls the textures of all environments. The modder has upscaled all non-virtual textures (aka terrain, vegetation, architecture, clutter, monster skins for a total of 1313 files) using Topaz Labs. This means that the modded textures will retain the art style of the vanilla textures. So, make sure to get it if you own a high-end GPU.
Finally, we have this mod that restores deleted scenes, encounters, and NPCs that were cut from the game. To be more precise, it brings over 100 conversations and more than 1000 lines of voiced dialogue back from its Early Access version. It also injects content into the game that still fits into the full release story.
Have fun!
