Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Turbine announced today The Lord of the Rings Online: Riders of Rohan, the next expansion to the award-winning free-to-play massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG), will launch Autumn 2012 in the UK. Players can pre-purchase Riders of Rohan and gain special benefits starting today by visiting its official website.
Kate Paiz, Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings Online, Turbine said:
“Riders of Rohan is our biggest expansion yet, and raises the bar technically and artistically much like Mines of Moria did in 2008. We’re introducing the largest area we’ve ever built and a combat system unlike anything that has been built before in MMOs. We’re excited for players to be able to continue the epic story as players immerse themselves in Rohirrim culture and support King Théoden himself as they strive to keep the eyes of Mordor distracted from the Ringbearer’s task.”

· Introducing Mounted Combat — Ride into Combat atop your loyal War-steed as you defend the people of Rohan from the forces of Isengard and Mordor. Customize your War-steed’s armor and level its skills over time to aid you in mounted defense of King Théoden’s lands. Mount your steed and gather your fellows to fight against Warbands, contingents of roving wargs and orcs that have been scouted all over the Plains of Rohan! It falls to you to head off and defeat this new threat before they over take the land.

Following Nvidia’s drooling Dawn Tech Demo, today we present you Square Enix’s latest tech demo called ‘Agni’s Philosophy’. Agni’s Philosophy was created with a new engine from Luminous Studios and shows off some gorgeous real-time graphics that come really close to pre-rendered CG visuals. As the title of the video suggests, this engine will most likely be used for a new Final Fantasy game. Nvidia announced that they’ll be releasing a new Dawn Tech demo to showcase the power of their high-end SLI flagship card, the GeForce GTX 690. The Dawn Tech demo is based on the old Dawn demo that was released a couple of years ago and showcases the advances that have been made in the graphics area. For example, the old Dawn demo featured 7,000 triangles whereas the new Dawn demo is packed with 4 million triangles. Electronic Arts has released the gameplay demo of Medal of Honor: Warfighter that was presented at their E3 2012 Conference. This new Medal of Honor title is powered by DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine and as we can clearly see, this demo ran on a high-end PC. Capcom has released the E3 trailer of Lost Planet 3. It seems ironic but Lost Planet 3 seems more like a Dead Space game than a Lost Planet one. Instead of being full action-packed with explosions and the likes, this latest iteration of Capcom’s franchise embraces the survival/horror elements. The result is a bit awkward, as we’d expect completely different things from such a game.Let’s hope that these horror segments are not overused and that the final product will feature more action.
