Valve has announced that a massive new update for DOTA 2 will be released later today. This update will introduce a new character (the Monkey King), will feature redesigned models for Slardar, Viper, and Enigma, and will improve the game’s HUD.
In addition, this update will improve the game’s environments. The game will now support improved skyboxes and dynamic grass, as well as trees that sway in the wind.
Naturally, there will be major changes to the gameplay, so players can expect balanced tweaks for a number of characters, and various map changes.
This update will also introduce Hero Talents and Backpack slot.
Hero Talents offer powerful augmentations to a Heroes’ capabilities, and players players can select them at levels 10/15/20/25. Each level offers unique branches, and bypassed branches are not available at future levels. Furthermore, each hero has their own unique set of Talents to choose from.
On the other hand, the Backpack slot allows Heroes to carry three additional items. While backpack items cannot be activated and grant no bonuses, they can be used to complete recipes, and players can swap items from backpack to inventory slots with a short item cooldown.

Wow, these are a lot new things… haven’t played DOTA 2 for about 2 years… And I’d want to go back play DOTA 2 but the toxic community reminds me why I quit playing DOTA 2 in the first place…

I have 4000 hours into Dota 2 and i also left cuz of that. I fed up with all the horrible people that always yell and curse at you.
People like that need medicine, meditation or just to go to another planet to fight each other.
On the bright side, I learned russian. Mainly the phrase “Cyka blyat”. 🙂
I went to play in America and half of the people in the USA are from mexico OR worse.. Peru. I thought europe had a problem with russians, but damn.. USA have a bigger one with Peru.

I have some frieds who play DOTA 2… and only DOTA 2… only one of them plays CS GO and nothing more on Steam… I played with them some matches a while ago. It’s fun with friends… when everything is organized and planned.
Too bad even they aren’t better than the rest of the DOTA 2 community, so I end up being the calm and collected smarta$$ of the team, making fun of everyone yelling and swearing at each other. Also hearing them speak a botched English just makes it more funnier.
heroes of the storm is much more fun imho. stopped playing dota 2 and never looked back.

I love the old huge UI that blocks 20 % of the screen. Idk why but i do. This new UI actually pisses me off…
Not sure if i like the new talent system or not. For some heroes, it was really cool to put stats on.. idk, if it will be as fun without that anymore. In general, i think i like the change tho ;d
they should really give the option to be able to use the old ui, i dont see any problem with allowing it

Nah ;p theres jerks everywhere. I mean in general, there was a real problem with those people. I dont mind them, but they just yell,scream, chat in other language (in a US-english only) servers and they never listen to the tactics. No team play = 100 % lose
