Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is considered one of the best parts of the GTA franchise. And since Rockstar does not seem interested in remastering its old titles, YouTube’s ‘Majami Hiroz: Welcome to the ’80s’ decided to give us a glimpse at what such a Remaster could look like.
This video uses assets and animations from the game itself, however it also has some new graphics effects, a new lighting system and new textures that give the feeling of a remastered version.
It actually looks really cool, even though the character models are exactly the same with those from the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
For comparison purposes, we’ve included below both the fan-made remastered video and the original one from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Enjoy!

Really impressive, i’m still not play latest GTA don’t like the way of 3 main character.
It would be far better if it didn’t have that randomness effect from max payne. It only worked for that one game and doesn’t at all fit into GTA.
it never worked and max payne 3 was utter garbage.
Here’s some soap, was your mouth out young man!
Don’t act like your opinion is fact. I enjoyed the crap out of that game.
Randomness? You mean noise?
This is really good. 🙂
Yeah, great work, better textures and lightning apparently work miracles in some cases.
Yep.
It’d be awesome to get a remaster of this game. A remaster for a game over a decade old makes so much more sense than the recent trend of releasing “remasters” for games only 2 or 3 years old.
According to some person claiming to have inside info on Rockstar’s future plans the next full GTA title will take place back in Vice City, which makes sense in a way since they’ve now done Liberty city in GTA3/4 and Los Santos in San Andreas5. The downer is same person said it’d probably be close to 2020 before it released. Apparently they have big plans on expanding GTA Online over the next couple years, adding a whole new map for Las Venturas (Vegas) and Liberty City +Upstate NY turning GTA Online into almost a full fledged MMO. The person prognosticating did nail some things that came to pass like calling out the bike updates to gta several months beforehand. a track record of about 80% correct on thier predictions so take that as you will.
Interesting. 🙂
I’m yet to finish VC (that f’ing remote heli mission), so until 2020 I have plenty of time to do so :p
I miss the music in Vice City very immersive radio it felt like it was the 80’s
Cruising a virtual Miami, I kill Gonzalez with the chainsaw, got back into the car and then it blasts:
RAINING BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
FROM A LACERATED SKY
