A few days ago, NVIDIA released the GeForce 375.57 WHQL driver. That driver was meant to offer optimal performance for Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. However, it appears that the driver introduced numerous issues, prompting NVIDIA to release a brand new driver.
According to the release notes, this driver addresses the mail app crashes that occured within 5–10 seconds after
being opened (following the driver update) on Windows 10 Anniversary Edition.
Some users reported issues with the GeForce 375.57 WHQL driver in various UWP games. PC gamers reported downgraded visuals in Forza Horizon 3 after upgrading their drivers, while others reported crashes.
Furthermore, users reported image artifacts in GIFs and videos.
This new WHQL driver aims to address all these issues, and you can download this new driver from here.

i had no time to experience those issues…well at least they are fixed…to bad fallout 3 and new vegas cant be played anymore since driver 368 on windows 10 anniversary machines it crash the moment you load a saved game or try new game,i heard its because microsoft introduced some new behaviors with how it handle shaders model 2 and 3 in anniversary update(used in fallout 3 and new vegas)
and nvidia responded by making a driver that broke fallout 3 and new vegas
HEY!but its pc we have backward compatibility…argh
Easy fix: Roll back to an OS that doesn’t actively break compatibility with games that are less than 10 years old, & voila 😛
Plus you get the added benefit of abandoning Microsoft SpyWare 10 before it’s too late……. ;D
As far as I know, Fallout 3 and New Vegas had issues with Win 7 too.
True, but at least they work with patches.
And who says they won’t release a patch for win 10?
Time?
Time & effort?
Bethesda’s passive-aggressive hatred for Obsidian?
Last time I checked, those patches were community made so…
Huh. Oops.
Good point >.<
Not surprising.
Your average nvidia broken driver.
If you want superior support get Advanced Micro Devices.
do you remember when it was happening to you? I do 🙂 Instad of moking, release something that is more for enthusiast instead of the crappy main stream stuff only.
lol .. this is the first botched driver release for nvidia in *ever*. AMD sucks.
“Ever” is a ridiculous exaggeration.
In a while? Sure. In a long time? Eh. Ever? Absolutely not. Especially if you count the drivers that gimp/ed older generation cards.
AMD has considerably improved its drivers as of the last few years, btw, to the point wherein while they have minor issues, & isolated major grievances, the major, constant grievances that used to plague them have long-since been resolved by now.
Also, I’d point out that AMD actually issued a recall over the fan thing, whereas Nvidia took the 3.5GB people to court & kept fighting right until the end, when they lost, & were legally forced to issue refunds.
AFAIK nvidia did accept people to refund their cards since early on. though i’m not really sure how most board partner react to that. the one that took the issue to the court is not nvidia but people that did not satisfied about the the spec and want some action taken to nvidia because they were ‘lying’ about the spec. and they were not “forced” to issue refunds either. they are the one that proposed the settlement to the existing lawsuit against them.
Nvidia, proposing the settlement is akin to being ordered to pay out by a court, IMO. They just figured it would be cheaper not to have the lawyers waste 3 years in court before they were forced to do it, so they just went ahead & saved themselves some money by doing it first. If they believed they could actually win the lawsuit, &/or if they thought they could get a better deal by holding out even longer, as any good “Giant Corporate Entity” can tell you, they would have fought the damn thing to the bitter, pathetic, whiney, screaming end of it, appeals & all.
They were lying, quotations unnecessary.
“Nvidia, proposing the settlement is akin to being ordered to pay out by a court, IMO.”
that is just your view on that matter. it was nvidia own decision so the things will not going to linger for a long time and cost them more money in the end. there is no official order for nvidia to do refund before they propose for the settlement. when that not happen you can’t say they “were legally forced to issue refund”. doesn’t matter what views you have on the company don’t try to change things that really happen.
Alright, how’s this, then? Nvidia settled, because they knew they were going to lose. Ergo, they recognised that they broke the law, & were legally required to provide compensation for damages.
Better?
No. It’s *ever*. For at least 20 years I’ve used Nvidia and their drivers and *never* an issue until this.
The world at large would beg to differ, but as they say, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.
If you exclude the spontanous combustion episode… among other achievements by the green team…
Least the average broken driver from nvidia doesn’t turn your fans off and destroy your gpu
Yes, 375.57 is still superior driver
Some people survive a CVA but they’re never the same after.
Rip.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA that’s good there…!
Yeah…….NOT!! AMD is a pure fail these last couple of years. Especially the CPU side of things.
These drivers do NOT fix the corrupt GIF issue. There’s no mention of them doing so in the release log, so I’ve no idea where you got your information from. In fact, I’ve only just started to get this problem since I updated to this driver. Previous drivers were fine.
It fixed it for me i checked twitter and just typed gif into google images and i do not get the artifacts no more. What GPU do you have?
Who the hell uses the Win 10 mail app?????
People who believe in that ridiculous “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear” ideology & who, as a result, are more than willing to surrender the contents of their mailboxes to the NSA for in-depth constant inspection.
Not to mention the ad agencies Microsoft is going to sell it all to in the meantime, of course.
(See Microsoft’s attempts to acquire LinkedIn for more on the latter, & the PRISM Program for more on the former)
same applies to gmail, yahoo, and any other mail app btw.
or people who don’t believe everything is a conspiracy..
Good point.
Btw, Yahoo called; it wants to remind you of its NSA backdoor, & I have Microsoft on the other line, muttering something about how they were the very first company to sign up to PRISM ;D
I do. Show me another lightweight, minimalistic email client with mutil-account support and notifications
While you’re at it do find something which rivals the Windows 10 news app as well because I also use that.
“Furthermore, users reported image artifacts in GIFs and videos.” Yup new it
Pron!
Dude I thought my gpu was crapping out, artifacts on gifs
These Drivers were aval a few days ago. Whoever works on Nvidia’s webpage needs to get their crap tougher.
?? They were on Nvidia’s webpage as soon as they launched. It’s DSOG that is slow on this news.
no I meant was there drivers were aval in the drivers section but no mention of it was on Nvidia’s own site
Is this GeForce Experience the driver for the Nvidia graphics card, or it is only responsible for just optimising games?
What?
The NSA thanks you for being such a compliant Citizen, Citizen.
Now bend over, it’s time for your an*l probe 😀
Sooooooo……….yeah. One can tell where your ideals are.
Likewise, Citizen.
Thank you for your compliance with this completely illegal search of your home & person, by the way. There truly should be more compliant (read: idiots) people like you out there.
After all, if you’ve nothing to hide, you’ve nothing to fear, right? 😀
Just be glad the Internet has given you a platform to call people names on. Because you obviously know everything.
I know the people like you….served with them when I was in the army. And you people are all the same. At least those guys did something productive with their lives…..at least once in their lives I can say.
You….probably the type to sit there and “explain” how the world is all wrong, but you are always correct. Either accept the ideals that are fact, or do the world a favor and correct yourself by doing what should have been done at birth for you….abort yourself.
A guy who calls himself “YOUDIEMOFO” yet who’s also (allegedly) old enough to have served in the Army calling out other people……..
Okay………………………………………………….
P.S. “Something productive” – well, if you choose to believe that, I suppose that’s your right to do so, sure…….
You sound like a man with a couple WD Passport HD’s hidden under the floorboards…
Yeah because “I” am that important to where I have to hide my thoughts and actions. (Need that “hard copy” to bring the man down….!.!)
