Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft have revealed the official PC recommended requirements for Forza Horizon 3. According to them, PC gamers will need an Intel i7 3820 (@ 3.6GHz) with an NVIDIA GTX970 or an AMD R9 290X, 12GB of RAM and 55GB of free hard-disk space.
As Turn 10 claimed:
“From basic options like full screen, vertical sync, and resolution, to more advanced adjustments like quality settings for motion blur, mirrors, reflection, static and dynamic geometry, we’re giving Windows 10 players the power to play the way they want. Whether playing on the recommended specs or pushing the hardware limits to deliver the ultimate 4K racing experience, Forza Horizon 3 players will have lots of options for making the most of their experience.”
Forza Horizon 3 releases on September 27th.

Ey, if it ever comes to Steam or GOG, I’ll buy. Til then, don’t care.
Give it 6 months and it’ll be on Steam.
It will never be on Steam
Quantum Break is already on Steam. All Windows exlusives are bound to come to Steam eventually.
Sales…….sales……..sales…..! It’ll be on steam sooner than later…..!
The difference is that Quantum Break and Rise of the Tomb Raider are not IP’s owned by Microsoft. Remedy is an independent developer, and owns the Quantum Break IP. Crystal Dynamics is owned by Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics/Square Enix own the Tomb Raider IP. Actual titles owned by Microsoft such as Halo, Forza and Gears of War will never see the light of day on Steam.
Quantum Break IP belongs to Microsoft, not Remedy. In any case, there are plenty Microsoft-owned IPs on Steam.
Sure, there are Microsoft IP’s on Steam. There are Sony ones on there, too. But nothing that’s a First Party exclusive such as Halo, Forza, Gears of War, etc.
You’ve got a point in that that is a meaningfil distinction. But I wouldn’t be so sure about the implication. With all these games coming to PC Microsoft seems very committed to making money on PC in some way. And when their store fails they might very well end up selling their exclusives on Steam to cut their losses. What would they have to gain from not doing so? The point of the store is to create a walled garden market place like consoles are. When that plan fails they will stand before the choice of keeping their games exclusive on a store where noone buys them, making no money, or releasing them on Steam (or any other store) to earn at least some money on PC.
Like Quantum Break, right?
No Steam no buy… there is only one true shop!
Your loss man.
go back to 2009, please.
Ignores “or GOG,” which I actually prefer.
So you only play game from Steam or GOG? No Battlefield 1 (Origin), no Watch Dogs 2 and Assasins Creed (Uplay)?
After Battlefield 4 and Hardline you want 1? After Watch Dogs you want Watch Dogs 2? You’re still in the “new=good” stage of a gamer’s life, aren’t you?
Battlefield 1, Watch Dogs 2, Assasin’s Creed (after revelations)… all of them are 5#!7 and also MICROSOFT & WINDOWS 10 & WINDOWS STOR.
Why would I buy Ubisoft or EA games?
If it comes in with the looks and performance of Forza Apex, I’ll def pick it up.
I think I will get the game day one. I loved the first one 🙂
LOL’d at that 12 gb ram…
At least make it 16 GB or 8 GB.
Not sure what you find funny about that, is 12 somehow a funny number?
Triple channel RAM is unusual. Most people run one or two sticks of RAM and there aren’t really any 6 or 12 gig sticks.
I have triple channel because it’s what first gen i5 and i7 were built for. Afaik Intel went back to dual channel afterwards.
No it is mainly quad channel now with both DDR3-4 supporting it. I have 65gb of quad channel DDR3 in my X79 RIVE. On my X58 board I had 12gb of DDR3 in triple channel mode……hence there needed to be at least three sticks to get the proper speeds. Love my current 65gb of DDR3 @ 2400mhz though….!
Not to sure about the z170 boards/socket 1150-1151 setups, so I couldn’t rightfully say.
Do you run entire games from RAM?
I have and you can do that by installing RAMDisk. Pretty cool stuff, but make sure you are stable as it needs to mirror itself (elsewhere) so that data at all times so you do not lose it after a reboot/shutdown.
Pretty much what I’m going to say in reply.
And I’ve seen people criticizing putting 32 GB into a new system build.
