Deus Ex: Mankind Divided releases next week and a lot of PC gamers are already looking forward to it. Square Enix, EIDOS Montreal and Nixxes claimed that the game would ship with DX12 support from the get-go, however it appears that this won’t be the case.
As the Deus Ex team noted, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided won’t support DX12 at launch. The team expects to release a patch that will add support to Microsoft’s latest API on the week of September 5th.
“Contrary to our previous announcement, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, which is shipping on August 23rd, will unfortunately not support DirectX 12 at launch. We have some extra work and optimizations to do for DX12, and we need more time to ensure we deliver a compelling experience. Our teams are working hard to complete the final push required here though, and we expect to release DX12 support on the week of September 5th!”

What about Vulkan?
^ lol
Too much wishful thinking, eh?
Don’t let anyone stop you from dreaming! 😀
You guys really don’t get it, do you? Consoles decide everything period
Vulkan can run on consoles.
Yeah pretty much like everything else…
Vulkan can in theory, sure, but it doesn’t seem like Sony’s adopting it, & Microsoft will never adopt it, so yeah……
DX12 actually is compatible with xbox1 on some level.
So the engine isn’t build from the ground up for DX12? Support is just going to be flung in?
There has been a few titles which were originally dx11 titles that got dx12 support but dx12 did nothing to the performance (Yes even on amd hardware)
I don’t we will see full DX12 titles for a few years honestly. Nvidia does not support most of DX12 as it is, especially on older cards.
It fully supports DX12, including Async. So stop saying fanboytardities.
And Tomb Raider is an official Nvidia game and it’s DX12, so shut up about that as well.
lol this butthurt.
I don’t even like this guy, & I’m agreeing with him.
Gives you an idea of how epic his comment is ^^
According to AMD, feature levels are not meaningful to users, just devs so fighting about feature levels and claiming AMD have better support(whatever that means) is irrelevant. People like you are the real fanboys, I mean if you could actually take AMD’s advice instead of making stuff up to support them then you might actually have an argument but inflammatory comments just proves who the real fanboys are.The very fact you even mention NVIDIA without the article even saying anything just shows it.
It’s literally true. Nvidia’s older cards don’t support much in the way of DX12, hence why they get rekted in benchmarks. Nvidia has clearly hit a homerun with their newest cards, but the older cards are clearly getting it rammed deep by AMD with newer games. Just look at the 780Ti.
Of course they dont because DX12 wasn’t around then and like I said to you and others before, the low level API feature support for the likes of Async Compute were there because AMD made GCN for PS4/XB1, they could actually support the features.

AMD Confirms GCN Cards Don’t Feature Full DirectX 12 Support – Feature Level 11_1 on GCN 1.0, Feature Level 12_0 on GCN 1.1/1.2
No GPU vendor supports all feature levels, that was not my point.
The 7970 launched in December of 2011 and yet is DX12 compatible.
Have you seen HD 7970 performance in DX12 games? lol rekt
If you want to have a discussion that is fine, but based on how idiotic your name is I doubt that is going to happen.
If you took a second to think how the 7970 has been rebranded you would know that it is currently a 380X. It’s doing quite well in Doom on Vulkan.

The Nvidia support for 12 goes back to the 400 series Nvidia cards even if its a basic level that card came out in 2010. Guess what else came out in 2010? Oh that’s right the 6900 series. Also a 6950 is pretty much equivalent to a 7850 in terms of performance so it actually could still be useful.
AMD doesn’t support DX12_1 and you claiming Nvidia has less DX12 stuff. lol
There is lot of features nvidia actually does not support but they are not part of feature level requirements, so even graphic with higher feature level can support less features. It is actually very complex issue, but you are right nvidia is the only vendor that support feature level 12_1 atm.
Of course it isn’t. The Dawn engine started development years before DirectX12 was even announced. Engine development takes years, and that’s not even counting the man-hours it’s going to take for developers to sufficiently learn an entirely new API.
But we will have finished the game by then.
Once maybe. I will be playing it 3 or 4 times at least.
Glad they at least let us know before release.
That’s true.
Then again, we’d probably have noticed once they released System Requirements for it anyway, so I guess their PR department figured it was best to just get ahead of it before someone noticed, made a storm about it, & they were forced to make one of those ultra-embarrassing & extremely humiliating announcements confirming it, all while spinning as much damage control from it as possible.
Hell, they probably only waited this long because they were hoping they might actually be able to squeeze it in at launch after all. I mean, we are 5 days away from launch, after all. GOTTA SQUEEZE THEM PRE-ORDERS, BRAH!
and its only going to be 2 weeks late. Better than delaying the game another 2 weeks.
So again like with Rise of Tomb Raider?
In midlle of development game become Nvidia tittle or?
Mankind divided is a amd title.
Rise of Tomb Raider was also…in begining……
Nvidia’s has those loads they keep blasting in the faces of the developers, loads of cash that is.
AMD want to throw money at studios as well for supporting an immature API that only benefits them the most, but you know, console business came first because they were going broke and built GCN around low level APIs instead of DX11.
It was a joke. If you removed Nvidia’s balls from your face you could see that.
Yeah, one sided jokes.
Mankind Divided won’t be an AMD title until Sept. 5, because AMD is pathetic at DX11 ¬¬
LAUGHING MY A*S OFF
ME CAGO EN SU PUTA MADRE
I FUC&%$#@ bought a R9 380 precisely for the extra DX12 kick it has compared to the 960 mainly to run this game, and now it’ll run better at launch with the 960 anyway? (cos DX11 on AMD cards sux)?
I’M SO F&%$#@ TIRED OF COMPANIES HYPING AND NOT FUC&%$#@ DELIVERING ¬¬
im so tired of people swearing in spainish and writing like a 5 year old…. stay mad kiddo.
Go do yourself a favor and die. Humanity will appreciate it.
Of course an AMD fangirl would say that. No matter that AMD cards consistently fall behind on nearly EVERY DX11 benchmark compared to Nvidia’ ones, and almost every tech site admitting that they’ve got a serious bottleneck on that matter.
And the ones you mention costs even double than what I wanted to spend. Shows what you know.
These “DX11 launches + later DX12 free DLC” are getting silly… but since these were started some time ago, ok, sure. But if future new games are also being started like that just because they still want Win7/DX11 buyers/gamers, just pick freaking Vulkan instead of “DX11+DX12”. The point of the APIs is to make better new games with them from the ground up. Making DX12 patches for a DX11 developed game sounds like a “skin pack” or some crap they add later just because they were told to.
But then they don’t get the Microsoft “totally-not-a-bribe” bribe money……..
😮
I still prefer DX11 over DX12 simply because I can use SweetFX/ReShade in DX11 titles and cannot in DX12 titles.
Another disaster game incoming,
we will never leave last gen with this kinda development
Couldn’t give 2 sh!ts about dx12, just deliver a great game and I really don’t care about the graphics or bells and whistles.
Doesn’t matter cuz nothing can fix this game’s animations specially those horrible facial animations.
I really hope this isn’t gonna be protected by DENUVO

Kappa (Grey Face, no space)
I can tell you can’t meme son…
:)) Of course it will use it.
There is a two hour stream, man just watch main NPCs talking to Adam. i saw all sorts of clipping and weird animations in the first 30min or so.
Cue AmigaBot4000 trying to spin this as a positive in 3, 2, 1…..
P.S. [Insert KEEP CALM, & FEEL THE BURN] cliche meme right here.
P.P.S. Double-burn, when you remember what he was saying about “native DX12 titles coming this Fall.”
Lol about the p.p.s
P.P.P.S. [Insert a tweet pic from a Dice dev about how the future is DX12]
Upgrade to Windows 10, they said. Everyone is doing it now, it’s free and there are soon going to be REAL DX12 games, they said. And the charade continues.
well hopefully you jotted down that windows 7/8 cd key and can downgrade whenever you wish
I still use Win 7. If you’re on Win 8 you might as well “upgrade”, Win 8 is the same trash.
I guess this is way there aren’t many DX12 only games. Many people (like me) stayed in win7.
DX11 is available to almost all windows users.
DX12 has what? A 50%?
Maybe on the software side, although I doubt it’s that much. On the hardware side GPUs don’t *really* support DX12, you can’t really make a DX12 game at this point, if you want people to play it. DX12 will stay added bonus features on top of a DX11 game for years to come.
When will DX12 cease to suck?
It’s a pretty useless thing now. And this state of affairs is lingering for so long.
Actually did not see this coming, hey just hope they release it right(love this series). I’ll wait to 12 support is added before playing it. Recommend others to at least do a wait and see approach if 12 is something that seems so important to one. In reality if your PC couldn’t run it in directx 11 then it probably won’t do much better with 12 if one is waiting for that.
Also has anyone wondered if 12 does better on Amd since 12 lowers CPU usage and Amd’s drivers or something uses more CPU cycles then Nvidia drivers do? At least according to toms hardware and digital foundry. Obviously not all of it however and Nvidia needs to do something about this problem next time around stop with the software approach, Hardware>software any day.
As i said with Amd fans i’ll say it to Nvidia fans who are hopeful for a software magic trick it doesn’t happen. Amd promised crap didn’t happen(remember 8 was supposed to do wonders for bulldozer). Nvidia Async compute performance will not compete well with Amd until Nvidia has competitive hardware for that, this is speaking from a person who will probably stay with Nvidia for at least 7 years or so until i replace my Acer XB270HU(that i love so much).
