Just Cause 3 feature 2

Just Cause 3 – 1.1GB Update Is Now Available On Steam [UPDATE: Changelog Revealed]

Avalanche Studios has just released a new update for Just Cause 3. Although the team has not revealed the changelog for this patch, it did claim earlier this month that it was working on optimisations, bug fixes, performance enhancements and improvements.

Our guess is that this patch comes with various bug fixes, performance enhancements and improvements. Oh, and no; there is still no support for multi-GPUs.

A number of users claimed on the game’s Steam forum that this patch breaks compatibility with the third-party FOV tool, and that the memory leak that affected the game has not been fixed yet.

Given the fact that this patch breaks compatibility with the FOV mod, we’re almost certain that this is not just a DLC patch (similar to those released for other games).

On the plus side, some issues with Anisotropic Filtering have been fixed, and the stuttering issues have been improved according to some Steam users.

We’ll be sure to update this story once we get our hands on the changelog, so stay tuned for more!

UPDATE:

Here are the release notes for this latest update.

So our latest Patch (1.1GB) includes a few alterations to JC3 for the Japanese release of the game. It also contains some improvements to online functionalities, and stability. Here’s a more technical breakdown of what the patch includes:

  • Japanese Audio added
  • Online
    — Protocol change for GetStats to reduce server bandwidth
    — Further improvements to GetStats, adding zlib compression to the response
  • Stability
    — Fixed raycast scheduler threading issues

The Just Cause 3 team continues to work on optimisations and fixes.

  1. Multi-gpus, when they work are a holy grail! But jeez, every AAA title i see lately doesn’t support SLi. I’m glad i left that train a year ago. It’s going downhill there’s no doubt.

      1. What do you do when you already have the best GPU and need more performance? Pray to Jesus?

          1. I have the smallest monitor currently avaliable. A 21,5 IPS 1080P. And a powerful GPU GTX 970 G1 GAMING. I dont need to get a smaller one but a bigger one because my card can run games at higher resolutions but i can not because it will not fit in my desk that i have my pc if it is more than 23”.

          2. It is not only desk problem. Bigger monitor can cause issues to our eys because on the desk we are sitting too close to them. They are mainly for those who have their pc in the living room. For desk use anything more than 23” can be problematic due to both size issues and health issues.

  2. Same developers… I mean how can Mad Max be so great on performance and yet this is just a total f’k up of a game? I mean what are we missing here?

      1. Just like Ubisoft Ukraine. Whenever you see Ubisoft Ukraine/Kiev on a PC port? You know it is going to be bad. Not really those guys fault, as they are a SMALL team tasked with doing open world PC games, which are prob a nightmare. Kind of like Iron Galaxy and Batman. More the fault of the company hiring or tasking small teams to do impossible projects.

        1. wah hilarious.I thought you are a mature guy.You are no different than those average steam turds crying all day.

          1. not at all I just seen videos as well with people with my hardware and the game looks like it needs some work

          2. i have 970 also.It doesn’t support sli.With recent patches performance is amazing.Though my i7 4790k at 4.4ghz helps a lot.

          3. Well I will have to give it a go sooner or later. I have a I7 4770K. Should be fine then.

    1. Because Mad Max had f*ck all to render. You’re comparing a vast almost empty world (Mad Max) to a world completely filled with stuff to render

    2. Different versions of the Engine, too. Mad Max was using a version closer to the one they used on Just Cause 2, so it was less “updated coding” to handle. Just Cause 3 was several steps ahead of the Mad Max Engine, hence “lots of broken stuff” to handle.

Not that I’m defending this disgraceful launch. This trend really MUST end. 5 years ago.
