Our friends over at GameWorld have launched an interesting video series that aims to “present the history of our favorite gaming industry to both gamers and non-gamers, while bridging a knowledge gap for the younger generations.” The first episode of this series presents the first board games, as well as the early forms of video games, from 50’s till early 70’s. It’s a pretty cool video, so be sure to give it a go. Do note that the video is in Greek (thankfully there are English subtitles).

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

I hate reading subtitles…
Very cool, waiting for the new episodes! 😀
For people that have historical interest in the game industry, I would also recommend Nuclear Fruit series by Ahoy. It explores the Cold War influence on videogames. 😉
“Nuclear Fruit series by Ahoy”
they are just amazing
Indeed, not to mention the production of that channel. Fantastic stuff. 🙂
almost all of them are fantastic, and his voice too.
He also does a video series on The History of Graphics as well, which would also tie into this series as how video games evolved as they were held back by their limitations at the time.
Yep, that series is fantastic too.
Even the videos he does about guns are interesting, the production is so good that I can’t help but like it.
I think it’s just his overall presentation. He has a good voice, it’s clear, it’s not too lengthy, but goes into good detail as well. It’s just high quality production.
