Sonic Lost World Is Coming To The PC, Promises To Be Fully Optimized For The PC Platform

SEGA announced today that Sonic Lost World will be available for PC as a digital download from November 2nd. Users who pre-order Sonic Lost World from participating digital retailers will receive Sonic and All Star Racing Transformed absolutely free.

Originally released for Wii U in 2013, the PC port of Sonic Lost World will feature full controller support, Steam Achievements, Cloud Save, leaderboard functionality, interchangeable keyboard prompts depending on whether you play with controller or mouse and keyboard and widescreen and high resolution implementation. The PC version will feature the Nightmare DLC and the whole package will cost just £19.99/$24.99/€22.99.

Sonic Lost World sees Dr. Eggman harnessing the power of six menacing creatures known as the Deadly Six, but when the Deadly Six rise up against their master, Sonic has to unite with his arch nemesis in order to take on the new enemies head-to-head. Using his dynamic new parkour moves and improved Colour Powers, Sonic must run, jump and race through a variety of ever changing terrains in order to defeat the Deadly Six.

John Clark, VP of Commercial Publishing for SEGA Europe, said:

“We’re delighted to be able to bring Sonic Lost World to PC. This is the latest in a string of high quality PC ports of past SEGA titles that we will be building on in the coming months and years.”

  1. Eh, I don’t think this is what the SegaPCPorts campaign had in mind. Bring on Vanquish and Bayonetta, those are the big sellers!

      1. Wonder if we might see Resonance of Fate. With Valkyria Chronicles already on the playform and a small but passionate JRPG community it seems like a natural move.

      2. Yakuza would be fantastic. Sadly, we have a hard enough time just getting a western release of those games as is.

    1. I wrote the #SEGAPCPorts petition and no it’s not but it’s not a bad thing, I’ll play this. Hell I’ll probably try and review it for DSOG. 3D platformers are an endangered genre on pretty much every platform except Nintendo’s, so I’m happy to see the game on PC even if it’s not Vanquish, Virtua Fighter or Bayonetta (all of which I desperately want on PC even though I own console versions of all 3).

I would also love the Yakuza franchise but given its limited success in the west I can see why it would be rather risky to launch it on PC.

      1. Thanks for starting such a great movement, I’m sure you’re a big part of why we got Valkyria Chronicles! I’m not necessarily upset that we got this game, I just don’t see there being much of a demand for it. I may try it when it’s on sale, but Sonic’s track record of late hasn’t given me much confidence (I don’t keep track of which ones are good or bad).

      2. Thanks you foe starting this movement. Now continue to push for Bayonetta! Powerful women with glasses always sell well we need this game!!

  2. Awesome. And a bit random.

Also great that it comes with Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. I already have it as part of a Sonic games bundle but it was honestly the sleeper out of all the games I played this year.

I hope they have a strong team like Devil’s Digital on the port.

  3. Awesomeeee. One of the better Sonic games in recent years. Not perfect or anything like Generations. But really enjoyable. It’s just not as coherent as the best Sonic games.

  4. If the game has the support from modders that Generations had, it’ll probably be a nice aquisition, especially if they can tweak/improve the gameplay

  5. PC its the future and it will always be like that !
eventually all games from consoles(exclusives) sooner or later will be played on PC .
you can play very easily PS2 games on PC.

      1. Well switch my knickers, just went to check and I didn’t knew they still launching Sonic games on PC.

*wishlists Sonic racing thing, the good one*

        1. Transformed is the good one. Though really they are both good, both are excellent kart racers but the first lacks online multi on PC. In some ways I prefer the traditional aspects of the first game. The second is probably my favorite kart racer ever because of the unique gimmicks in its gameplay. The roster is flawed vs. the first game though.

          1. The little I’ve played of the first one I thought that the it felt too “safe”, like it didn’t made me forget Mario Kart. Still haven’t played Transformed, but only heard good things about it.

          2. SART is better than Mario Kart IMO, stages are amazing, the fact your car transform into plane and boat, gives the game a lot of posibilities, some stages changes while the racing is going on, and the sensation of speed, you feel you are going real fast.

          3. That’s what I’ve heard, and the fact that MK8 implemented some SART elements showed how much MK running out of ideas hehe.

    1. I think they can do as well as Wii U. Sega Japan went almost broke because this and Sonic Boom. As we now PC is more widely spread than WII U.

  6. I don’t care if the game is good or not. If it’s a good PC port like Valkyria Chronicles I’m buying it. Gotta keep supporting #SegaPCPorts

  7. Anarchy Reigns I don’t think it could have been a raging success but I often wonder how it would have done as a F2P game. Same for SEGA/Bizarre’s The Club.

  8. Sonic All Star Racing Transformed is f’ing AWESOME man. The only racing game i play on PC. Good ratings on Steam.

  9. Sonic in full 3D enviroment, like Mario 64? Ill pass. Thats the reason I never played the Dreamcast Sonic games.
