Ghost Games has shared a new Q&A for Need For Speed, in which it revealed that the game won’t be plagued by paid DLCs (at least for now the team does not have any plans) or micro-transactions. Instead, Ghost Games will release a series of free content updates for its open-world racer.
As Ghost Games revealed:
Q) Will there be paid DLC?
A) We plan to release a series of free content updates for Need for Speed. We currently have no plans for any paid DLC.Q) Will there be micro transactions?
A) There will be no micro transactions.
Furthermore, Ghost Games stated that players will be able to disable the game’s Dynamic “drift” Camera. The available camera viewpoints will be: bumper, bonnet, chase, far chase and dynamic cameras (yeap, it appears there won’t be a cockpit viewpoint which is kind of sad).
Need For Speed will take place in Ventura Bay, which is approximately twice the amount of drivable roads than Need for Speed Rivals.
In addition, all the cars will be available to purchase from the beginning (naturally, you’ll need to earn the cash to afford them).
Need For Speed is coming to the PC in Spring 2016 and will have an unlocked framerate!

They couldn’t be arsed to model cockpits. Shame, because with graphics they show it would be very immersive.
They will probably make another “Shift” esque game for that.
Right, right what’s the catch?
The only catch seems to be it’s always online
yea thats the thing that sucks
That’s enough to put me off.
??? ??? ??? ?? ?? ???????? ??
?’? ??????
???
You’re not sorry…
If the servers actually work (thinking of SimCity here), what would be the big deal? Who the hell doesn’t have a 24/7 connection in this day and age?
big deal ?
1.you don’t own the game, no server no game.
2.there is no reason for it to be an online only game.
3.you can’t mod s**t.
4.any problem with thier servers or your connection = everything goes to s**t and you can’t play.
5.Dark Spore ? i paid for that s**t, it’s not in my list and i can’t play the game cuz there is no game.
6.restrictions.
7.EA can shut the game down for any reason, like their last games.
8.maybe i don’t want to be online and play the game. maybe i’m in a boat, maybe i’m downloading something and i need my bandwith or maybe i’m enjoying the offline play for a single player game and don’t like to be forced to play online, maybe i want to play it 7 years from now but can i ? etc…
You don’t like it, you don’t buy it. Problem solved. Get another game instead.
maybe i like the game. so problem still exist. stop acting like a shill kid.
name one benefit that consumer gets with always online! are there any ? so when you defend such a thing then you are not a consumer but a shill or EA employee or you just an anti consumer-consumer, who knows.
Wow, Mr. Grownup over here. “You don’t like it, you don’t buy it.” no one is forcing any sh*t down your throat you idiot. If you don’t like their model of business, go somewhere else. What’s so f-ing difficult to understand? Everyone does whatever they feel like. If EA want their games to be always online and potentially ruin their company, they can do it. If Ubisoft wants to release only unfinished games and bury themselves, they can do what they want. Just as well, if you want the game that bad you get it; if you don’t, then F-ING DON’T!
Customers like you ruin everything good in this life, and you know why? Cause they accept anything, and the worst is you want everyone to be like you.
I seriously hope you were actually replying to my original message, cause otherwise you have a problem.
If you did reply to my original message, I have only this to say to you: I like (or in this case, don’t mind) something, you dislike it completely. I buy that thing with my hard earned money, because I want it. I have now ruined your perfect life…. If this case applies to you, I seriously suggest you wake up and stop being a little baby brat. If a game ruins your life (or any product for that matter), you need psychological help, ASAP.
-_-‘
“my hard earned money”
i’ve gotta give it to you, being a slave at EA is not easy
Lots of people and even if they do have 24/7 access it’s still a crappy thing to do. Amir does a good good listing the faults about it
there’s a difference between it being always online and requiring an internet connection to play, a slight one, but there is.
Ok? The game requires a permanent internet connect. So therefore it’s always online
The catch is, a ton of DLC already secretly planned. Is there ANY EA game without DLC in the last 5 years? No.
How is that a catch? It will be free so what’s the problem?
Perhaps the DLC will be already included in the game.
BOOOOOM!
Mind blown.
Misleading article title, no plans for dlc =/= will not have dlc. They can start planning dlc tomorrow.
Indeed. Title fixed.
Or even worse, they already did but they dont wanna say it, cuz you know.. bad press? lol.
thats great so 59 eur for all content !
thank you EA and Ghost and looking forward to it in 2016 🙂
PS: only thing i hate about it : “it’s always online”
It’s EA, so it will have DLC
Good news. 2 months from now. EA exec says : we have a very nice season pass (NOT DLC) for 59$ which gives you new stuff for free
No Current Plans, No Current Plans, lure them into buying this and then we release a 50$ pack and we call it expansion not DLC.
Micro expansions 😀
Don’t give them ideas…
oh im sure there will be a standard edition… premium edition.. super exclusive premium edition. this is EA we’re talmbout.
“If EA want their games to be always online and potentially ruin their company, they can do it”
and i voice my opinion however i want and you and your masters at EA can take it up to your a** and shut up. if it’s anti consumer, i as a consumer protest, you have problem with that ? then kill yourself and while your at it, kill your masters at EA too, then you will be a free man, slave.
