CD Projekt RED has revealed the changelog for The Witcher 3’s upcoming update. According to the Polish studio, patch 1.08 will include various performance improvements, and will fix various gameplay, graphical and quest issues/bugs. This update will be released soon (no ETA yet) and you can view its complete changelog below.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Patch 1.08 Changelog:
PERFORMANCE:
- Overall improvements to performance, including some issues that may have been caused by 1.07.
UI:
- [Japanese Only][PS4 Only] Fixes an issue where the background text of certain books would flicker.
- Fixes an issue where part of the Kaer Morhen map would not display properly.
GAMEPLAY:
- Fixes a rare issue where items would disappear from the stash.
- Fixes a very rare issue which would cause Geralt to get stuck when trying to run.
- The interaction pop-up will no longer appear on lootable objects that are empty.
- Fixes an occasional glitch in one of the dwarf combat animations.
- Heads chopped off during finishers will no longer disappear.
- “Players can perform a roll just before landing to significantly reduce the damage caused by falling.
- We’ve added a tutorial pop-up window explaining this to make it clearer.”
- In patch 1.07, the level requirements for certain items were scaled up, leaving some players stuck with only unusable gear. With patch 1.08, we are introducing the Wolven Hour potion. This potion will be available in everyone’s inventory once they install the patch. It will reduce level requirements on all gear for a period of one hour. This will give players time to level up or find alternative equipment using the gear that was available to them in patch 1.05 but became unusable after patch 1.07. After one hour, the potion’s effects will cease and the requirements for all gear will revert to their original, pre-potion values.
- Fixes an issue where players were unable to compare their items with ones sold by merchants.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
- Players will now be able to complete the Card Collector achievement.
- Achievements are now working properly again and will be unlocked if players meet their requirements after installing this patch (PC version).
GRAPHICS:
- Fixes an issue where interiors would sometimes not display properly on the minimap.
- Fixes an issue where certain world elements would sometimes be missing and noticeable visual glitches would be present while in Novigrad.
QUEST:
- Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the “It Takes Three to Tango” quest, even though they had obtained wine at the Kingfisher.
- Fixes an issue where Geralt would sometimes die after traveling to Velen in the quest “Something Ends, Something Begins.”
- The entrance to the area where the Sunstone is obtained will no longer be blocked off if the player exits it prematurely during “The Sunstone” quest.
- Fixes an issue where players were unable to complete the “Get Junior” quest on certain occasions.
- Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the “Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear” quest due to a closed gate.
- Fixes an issue where some players were unable to investigate rooms during the “Family Matters” quest, effectively blocking their progression.
- Fixes an issue where players were unable to finish the “Hey, You Wanna Look at my Stuff?” quest.
- Fixes an issue where players were unable to talk to Roche during the “An Eye for an Eye” quest.
- Fixes an issue where Roche would stay at his camp instead of going to the Oxenfurt Bridge in the “Get Junior” quest.
- Fixes an issue where, under certain circumstances, Yennefer would not appear in Oxenfurt during the “The Great Escape” quest.
- Drowners will have a harder time killing Nidas during the “Black Pearl” quest.
- Fixes an issue which led to an infinite loading screen during the “To Bait a Forktail…” quest under certain circumstances.
- Fixes a rare issue where the basement was locked during the “King’s Gambit” quest.
- Fixes an issue where players were unable to free the merchant during the Person in Distress event in the Claywich area.
- The trolls at the Circle of Elements will no longer attack Geralt if he opts for a peaceful resolution.
- Fixes an issue where players were unable to talk to Roche during the “Brothers in Arms” quest.
- Fixes an issue where Zoltan’s card was unobtainable.
GENERAL:
- Preparatory features paving the way for the introduction of New Game + in the future.

CD Projekt RED really want to get those GOTY awards badly don’t they.
the potion is useless.. allow 1 hour to re-equip your gear. i have took the hard route. which i changed gear and level up and re-equip it again and finished the game.
Soo patch 2.0 will be DX12 support 🙂
That’s gonna be so dope. I really love these Polaks. they actually care about the project more than the profit, or they want the awards.
Bo w polsce PC jest najpopularniejsz? platform? uwierz mi wiem co? o tym XD You know that in poland PC is more popular than consoles trust me i know something about it XD
Waiting for DX12 support and some of those E3 effects to come back into the game. :p
that’s gonna be the enhanced edition
Heh, I wouldent be suprised, a sticker that stats, DX12 Super Enhanced 😀
Yeah, lets hope that it will come bro!
DX12 to save it or gtfo
It needs saving?:/
more than Batman Knight imo.
He thinks a GTX 680 should be able to run it on ultra with hairworks on and thinks Batman Arkham Knight runs better, LMAO. Also, NVIDIA have been making silly architecture changes from Fermi, Kepler to the point where a 560 Ti beats a 680 in some theatrical tests and those changes are only now starting to really hurt Kepler with DX11 Compute.
I recently watched a video of a i7, GTX480 running The Witcher 3 at 30-45FPs, yet this guy thinks Kelper runs bad because, NVIDIA, CDPR gimped the performance, the usual outlandish claims.
Good to see nothing much changes around here lol
Silviu still talking utter crap I see.
I’ve seen videos of W3 running on 680 at 1080p 60fps with mix of medium, high and ultra settings. Pick your settings appropriate to hardware you have and its fine.
My 980 struggles to hit 4k even on lowest settings, so I don’t use out. I stick to 1440p with high and ultra settings and my gsync Monitor does the rest.
Without that gync though and it would have to be 980 with ultra and high settings.
His Arkham knight argument cracks me up. The game runs horrendously even on my 980, but gsync saves the day and I can run it even at 4k and it barely performs different to 2k or 1080p. It’s not like the game is technically impressive either, hence his card copes better. It’s a ue3 modded engine that was built for the consoles. W3 tears through a 980ti at 2k and 4k at ultra settings. What’s he want from his 680?? Lol
LoL a 680 should still be able to run the game quite fan granted he lowers some settings. Geez some people really have unrealistic expectations of their hardware.
Just stay out of Witcher 3 articles you troll, there is something wrong with you when you say things like this.”go to hell and d*e there with your childrens dear CDPR”
well they deserve that in special CDPR for their performance in W3 on Kepler GPU’s !
i mean i have the proof that Batman works better than WITCHER 3 so you need shut up pathetic CDPR fanboy that you are!
But idk i still have hopes for them as i do for Rocksteady on Batman because after all they are on the same level of optimization skill.
Batman AK doesn’t run good on anything and you’re the only one saying it runs better than TW3, so why don’t you go cry and spread your lies and outlandish claims somewhere else.
Yes and i have the proof that it actually runs better than Witcher 3 a lot better with everything maxed out and dosen’t have that forced x64 tesselation to favor some type of GPU’s and others not.
Batman Arkham Knight max : 40-90 FPS not a single stutter or anything only some wierd low texture bug.
Witcher 3 max: 17-35 FPS with stutter and sometimes crashes black screen of death.
Again you have proven NOTHING, just because you keep saying it doesn’t mean it’s true but clearly you have convinced yourself that it’s true. If you think NVIDIA crippled Kepler then go use an old driver, according to you, it should perform better than the newer “forced X64 tessellation” driver.
Just because Batman AK runs better on your system doesn’t mean it IS better. Also you seem to think that broken POS game runs well, when it doesn’t for most people.
Hes just mad because his card essentially worthless now. Hell i ran witcher 3 in fermi architecture well so saying it runs like crap in kepler is bullshit.
proof: witcher 3 still up and selling, while batman was taken down
i think it a memory problem, and not just with the video ram. you start running around town from one section to another. even if im getting 50-60 fps, stuttering comes in like it just cant process the next place you goto
its running like crap on Kepler beside GTX 780Ti
man witcher 3 must not like you or something
yea i was thinking that too lol.
i was getting good frame rate on batman for much of the beginning, there some point in the game where you chasing somebody and something i cant really remember. your going through chinatown and all the sudden i get stutter so bad i just game up playing, this is even when i lowered the setting as low as they could go and set the resolution to 720. for me it fixed the stuttering, but then f’n chinatown!!
-i72600, 8gb ram and one 970
yes you have Maxwell and Witcher 3 performs very well on Maxwell but they were to lazy to optimized it for Kepler GPU;s so in my case Witcher 3 runs worse than Batman and AC Unity
are you running this on windows 10? would 10 even help these game somehow since they were made w/dx11
i have windows 10 i didn’t tried it on Windows 10 yet.
i would give a try after some more patches i guess
Well, it’s really about time you upgrade that gpu mate, just saying 😉
I will build a new gaming pc soon, a gtx 970 will have to do until a Pascal gpu next year. So go ahead and get a gtx 970, it’s a really good card – bang for the buck so to speak 🙂
oh man that sure is some proof!
You typed it without showing any documentation so it must be true!!
go on my youtube channel and compare Batman with Withcer !
Batman runs 10x better!
Again, no it doesn’t and Batman AK is one city, not even close to how big TW3 is with tons more detail, NPCs, locations, dynamic day and night cycles.
W3 look worse than BF3 and runs worse than Batman to be honest if we are actually at the honest table!
Stop being stupid for once, TW3 is a massive dynamic open world, you’re only against the game so much because it doesn’t run to your standards on your outdated GTX 680 on ultra.
Witcher 3 runs great on my pc, batman doesn’t. if you might read more stuff you will see that Witcher 3 on pc runs great for the majority, and batman runs poorly. Dont try and uptalk Batman, there is a reason they pulled it from steam/retailers.
You must be playing on xbox. PS4 runs silky smooth.
Talking about the PC version here not consoles.
Too bad. He said anything.
I said “anything” meaning on the PC. Fixed for the pedantic people.
WTF, did the guy say that..Huh, he must have some issues, that for sure :/
+1..Absolutely mate!
? hope that we dont have to wait for the console verification to get it released for 1 trillion years again
hey now that’s a lot of years, they say these numbers are to big most people cant comprehend or fathom, ill help so go to the beach and count each piece of sand or take a piece of string and run it back and forth from the earth to the moon 100 times, count the distance and your almost there!
update 1.7 isn’t good it reduced my fps 5 or 10 using gtx 980
Strange, my framerate was about the same on my GTX 970.
it fixed the shlt out of novigrad, same framerate but now all the buildings load, no invisible walls. conversations are quick like the rest of the game.
Please fix the crashing.
I want New Game Plus
Why are people thinking DX12 is gonna make this game better? The game is not built around DX12. All a DX12 wrapper around the DX11 code will just make a slight minimal improvement.
If things turn out like how Mantle was with BF4 well that got crushed by Nvidia’s DX11 drivers for their Maxwell gpu’s.
Well, A lot of the DX12 features are software based anyway but yes DX12 on the CPU side wouldn’t be that beneficial as TW3 isn’t CPU bound much at all. A 20% boost would be welcome though. TW3 isn’t very CPU bound probably because of the consoles being poor in that respect.
I did a performance test with Windows 10, 1.07 and it’s certainly smoother.
That’s very nice. Also the other day while testing at Novigrad I found this…

Re: first image
“Also the other day while testing at Novigrad I found this…”
“a horse’s a*s?”
{referring to the get junior quest) So you mean that I might be able to advance and maybe even finish the game?
Being serious now how the hell did this major bug go unnoticed after so long and so many patches?
Goddammit!! Still not making the font bigger. These guys are dicks. I sit 8 feet away from a 55″ tv. I should have no problem with reading anything. Until this game came out. Their text is in a box 8 inches x 8 inches on the screen and they only utilize 1% of it. WTF. I haven’t played since the first week because hey, I like my eyesight.
I did a lot of tests on windows 8.1 and 10 and to my surprise some games have boosted the min. fps by 20 and in some the average went up by 10 fps
Getting inside of a b*rdel and find a horse (despite it as* being the first thing you see)… isn’t that weird and funny enough? lol
hey is that Margo from witcher2? that VVhore really gets around
