News flash everyone; the GOG version of The Witcher 3 has been leaked on pretty much all torrent sites. And while most of you would be thinking that all companies would do anything in their power to take down these torrents, CD Projekt RED decided to think outside of the box and let PC pirates know that the day-1 patch will be available to everyone as a separate download.
Yeap, CD Projekt RED is not restricting its day-1 patch to the game’s owners. Instead, those who pirate the game will be able to update the game and have its latest version up and running.
Oh, and there is no catch here. Instead of crucifying PC pirates, CD Projekt RED’s dev kindly asked for their support. Now that’s the spirit CDPR.
Here is the comment that CDPR’s developer left on a well-known torrent website (for obvious reasons we won’t share any additional information about it).
For the time being, we are marking this as a rumour. This user registered to that torrent website a couple of hours ago. Apart from the information about the day-1 patch, he did not provide any additional information to prove that he’s actually working at CDPR. In short, he may be a fan trying to act as a dev.
Still, it would be really cool if this was CDPR’s official reaction to the leak!

Actually, PC market works differently than Consoles. It’s the home of innovation and new devs. When devs become famous, they are noticed by M$ and Sony then they give them money to prioritize their platform. It has nothing to do with “AAA” market. That’s just a myth.
And PC games have always been for niche market that target specific audience instead of targeting wider audience like so called “AAA” games on Consoles. PC games were never as famous as Console games but they became cult classics after a long time.

Till this day, everyone who played it praises it but never received as much coverage as MGS did. OMG THIS!!!! MGS pales in comparison to Thief games. Thief games treat you like humans with brains instead of playing cutscene after cutscene. The story in Thief unraveled through notes, dialogues and small cutscenes. The player was free to go anywhere he wanted and sweet jesus does it have some brilliant mod support till this day.

Direct feed? You mean a 1080p stream? Or most being at 480p. Some of you really need to chill. Wait and see until the game is released. One of the biggest issues is comparing the screen shots when time of day has been different. Lighting makes a huge difference on how textures appear and I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on this.

The grass isn’t different in day/night nor are the buildings. Building’s texture and edges do not change depending on the day. The grass doesn’t clip inside the rocks because of day/night.

There are lots of HIGH QUALITY videos that show many aspects of the game and a lot of it share the same aspects of both the early 2014 trailers and the recent 2015 trailers. Why don’t you make an effort and compare the different aspects of the graphical fidelity of the game. I did it and found many things “toned down.”

XBawks and Piss4 versions were leaked a few days ago. Also, they couldn’t restrict the ‘day 1 patch’ even if they wanted to, unless they force GOG users to use their GOG Galaxy service to patch the game.
I would have downloaded the game as well if we could play it today but since the .exe file is not there yet I will just wait till the 19th for my steam copy to unlock. Currently 20% pre-loaded.
The Witcher 3 is now confirmed to be the masterpiece we all knew it would be, but the graphics downgrade or unnecessary optimization on PC as I would like to call it, should have been avoided to not give pirates the excuse to pirate the game.
I guess I’m not entirely mad with the downgrade, since it has been done before and modders restored the quality. I just don’t like how they go about it. Despite its graphics downgrade, overall it seems like one helluva game. It got 10 on gamespot and 9.8 on Gametrailers. IGN kids gave it 9.3. All of them showed PS4 versions. Frame rates were all over the place. Looking forward to playing this on PC.

I just OCed my 970 for Witcher! 🙂 I am sad/angry for the difference in graphics, atmosphere from the videos we saw 1 year ago but still I will torrent the game check it out how it runs with my PC and will pay for the game. I have done this for some games in the past, with companies and titles that I believed should be supported. I think Witcher 3 deserves it. I’m tired of the Illuminati and their downgrades!
How exactly pirated patch would not work the same way pirated games work? Seems like usual “CDPR-Ultimate-PC-bro” lip service but little bit more annoying due to, let’s see, downgrade, parity with console builds, PC controls and review codes being the last minute addition. I’d like to see at least proper PC reviews and performance tests before being begged to buy a game. And if you preordering the game just for the ability to pre-download then you must be not an SSD user, because pre-loading>unpacking>day1patching on SSD is not a very good idea.
I am very disappointed to see the massive visual downgrade to The Witcher3 which was obviously done so consoles could manage to run the game with a compromised 30fps

However I won’t be pirating their game and to be honest I might not even play it at all as I didn’t finish either Witcher 1 or 2 because of clunky controls and needlessly convoluted missions that had you needing to read game guides because of poor choices by the developer which had the gamer running around not knowing where to go or what to do so I can only imagine how much worse it will be as an open world game.
I am just sad that no one tries to back PC and do what’s best for PC gamers by securing PC’s exclusive games so they don’t end up eventually getting dumbed down consolised mainstream sequels. If only Valve actually gave a fcuk and ran Steam and were more hands on with quality control instead of it being ran more like a flea market or car boot sale. I mean Valve takes 40% cut from all the games sold on Steam which is a higher cut from game sales than the console manufactures yet Valve are unable to fund big budget PC exclusives to attract more gamers to Steam and make PC gaming better for PC gamers. Sony and Microsoft both take a far smaller cut from the sales of games on their platforms as well as having to spend money researching , building and selling console hardware at a loss yet they are still able to use some of the money they make from a cut of games sold on their platforms to fund exclusives that best take advantage of their hardware,
Meanwhile Valve are happy to run Steam like a flea market flooding it with all sorts of sh1t that will sell for peanuts because they get a 40% kick back.
Don’t get me wrong I love , I love PC gaming as PC has by far the best games library of any platform but Valve are making money while doing nothing good for PC gamers. They don’t use a fraction of the money they make from 40% cut to fund some exclusives for PC gamers to give them something special that’s designed just for them. They let any old sh1t on Steam Green Light which isn’t as bad as XBOX Live’s Indie scene but at the same time it gets far too much room on Steam. They don’t even try and secure some of PC’s best titles by giving developers incentives to not run to consoles and that’s why we have The Witcher3 having a massive visual downgrade after a massive delay all because the weak sauce consoles are sporting CPU hardware that would have been well, well , well below minimum requirements had Witcher3 been designed for PC which would have ensured parts of Witcher3 didn’t end up looking worse than Witcher2 the 4++ years old PC title

To be honest I don’t care about your time, it’s you who decided to post on my comment so it’s your problem.
And there is nothing proud in my comment, it’s the reality. If you want to pirate a game then do so, it’s your call but trying to justify your piracy by using reasons like “oh it’s downgraded”, “oh they lied to us” or whatever isn’t going to cut it. People pirate software/games because they have the have the opportunity and they abuse it. Lets ignore Witcher 3 for the moment, Witcher 1 and 2 were great games but people still pirated the hell out of them so using excuses like we’re pirating because they shafted us is just crap. If you’re really angry from them and don’t like their game then neither buy it nor pirate it then I’ll say you’re a respectable person otherwise you’re just a hypocrite.
I won’t lie I also have pirated games before but I am neither proud on it nor feel guilt about it, it’s just my decision and I stick with it but trying to proof yourself clean and saying you’re doing this because of blah blah reason is beyond stupidity.
