According to a message in Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile forum, the developer is about to start taking cheaters to task. Nearly 4,000 Path of Exile players found to have cheated were recently greeted with a dialog window, which tells the players that if they are caught again their accounts will be closed for good.
The message reads:
“You have been detected running cheating software.
This message is the only warning that we will be giving. Do not run cheating software such as maphacks or bots. It’s a violation of section 6 of our Terms of Use and also puts your account and computer at risk. Further use of cheating software will result in the termination of your Path of Exile account.”
There will be no more warnings and going forward Grinding Gears will be assessing immediate bans against accounts used by cheaters.

Cheating in a F2P PvE game…damn people are pathetic.
I know it has PvP but people still would cheat if it was PvE only.
What do you mean “I know it has PVP….”? That makes it worse. In a single player game, cheat to your hearts content, it affects only you. In any competitive game, to cheat is to damage other people’s experience of the game. That is pathetic beyond idiocy.
You do realize I am implying that without PvP it still would have cheaters.
Having PvP makes it worse. And yes PvP was added later. That’s all.
Maybe I didn’t express myself correctly. When I asked “what do you mean…”, I meant “what do you mean….”.
It leaves space for interpretation. It could either be: although there are PVP elements, it is still bad; or: what you just expressed.
I was genuinely asking 🙂
I got that John.
It was just that you seemed to kind of come across as thinking I approved of cheating without PvP being in a game.
I was just making it clear, that cheating in online games sucks.
Unfortunately, it seems to be a trend. Macro users included.
I have no sympathy whatsoever for those that cheat in multiplayer games. May their computer burst into flames and kill their dog for all I care.
kiss my a*s
They shouldnt get a warning they should just get a ban. Then again its a F2P game so they will likely just come back with a new account and even more hacks than before.
