Assetto Corsa Versus Project CARS Video Comparison

YouTube’s member ‘ADRIANF1esp’ has shared with us a video comparison between the final version of Assetto Corsa and the latest beta build of Project CARS. As ADRIANF1esp described, this is a graphics and video comparison, showing a dawn lap at Nurburgring GP circuit with the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 in both. Enjoy!

      1. Generic looking simulators, we already have a millions of them on PC, cant they do come up better than this crap? You saw what happended to the Crew ok ?

        1. The Crew is a sh**ty acrade racer with literally nothing to do once you finished the main story because the pvp is dead/broken and upgrading your car to “max level” is f’ing unberable grind. Also they removed the ability to have all specs on one car so youre forced to have more cars which is bul***it since it was possible on the beta. I will never ever buy a ubis**t game again, f’ those french c*nts.

  1. AC is not even close to pCars graphics. pCars is more atmospheric. The beautiful HDR, beautiful shadow areas, the lighting impact on the cars, superior shaders etc. It has alot more eye candy features.

AC tends to look more simple and bland. Something similar to LFS.

    1. not at all son. you obviously have no idea wnat you are saying. pc has more details yes and fantasy tracks, it doesnt have better atmosphere or HDR, in fact, corsa destroys pc in terms of that. also, sound and physics go to corsa all the way. if u want fantasy tracks and weather then pc is for you, the rest, ac wins.

  2. AC looks like it has much more detail whereas PC just seems to apply pretty lens flares (because apparently eyes are lenses now)

  3. AC: real sim. no rain. 2D trees. great sound design. nice car models. bad shadows. bad AA. great mod support. nice physics. (played it, still playing it)

PC: looks more arcadish/some sim elements. nice weather system.over all better environmental quality and visuals. more 3D trees. meh sound. nice car models. nice shadows. nice AA. no Mod. collision detection issues. (judging by tens of hours of videos – still in beta)

rF2: ultra sim. has last gen rain. great sound. some nice car models. meh visuals. greater mod support. amazing physics. (tried the demo – beta – and videos)

both are great and don’t forget about rFactor2 (you can download the demo). but all three of them share a big problem, only a handful of cars and tracks in them which is a little bit disappointing. it can be fixed by mods in rFactor 2 & AC. Pcars have more tracks even some nice fictional tracks but overall they are not enough.

    1. Im still playing in Race07 and RR3 (raceRoom Exp.) aka (GTR3 😉
Race07 -> Fine Graph. nice sound, great MOD’s, super Joy/Wheel Support, exelent play experience, verry affordable -> Overall Winner 😀
RR3 (raceRoom Exp.) -> Great visulas, Best Cars/Engine Sound ! (AC & PC go home lol), Tracks are great, expensive 🙁
no-Mods 🙁 (Demo/Full Game is Free on Steam) but for everything you have to Pay lol

  4. In real life I can drive any car without problems but in AC it’s very easy to crash even if you drive stupidly slow (and I’m using Logitech GT wheel). AC may be hard to play, YES, but it’s not the same as realistic driving. If cars would drive like that in real life, all poeple would die in crash accidents. I really hope PC cars will provide much more balanced driving experience.

    1. First, there’s a huggeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee difference between driving a street car and driving a race car.

Second, although you are using an excellent wheel, the absence of things like g-force, pedal stiffness, and things like that (things that your body recognizes and reacts while you are driving) are never going to make you feel like you are driving realistically, so, you are never going to “be prepared” as in real life.

It’s like you have to fill the gap “with imagination” while you are playing a game that simulates the car physics but lacks the rest of the experience.

      1. You dont see many people getting killed or crash in their first attempts of driving sport car, that’s because sport car is not space shuttle compared to street car, I’m not buying your explanation.

AC may be trying to simulate many aspects of physics, but the end results is nothing like real life car driving.

        1. To drive a race car (or sport if you like) like you do in AC, racers have to go through a lot of steps, beginning with karts, through street categories, and finally sports. It’s not easy to sit in a car and drive at 200mph in the beginning of your career as a driver.

You aren’t driving at 40mph in AC. That’s the big difference.

          1. In AC cars are hard to drive even if you drive slowly @40mph, that’s the problem. I also played gran turismo 6 on my GT wheel, and I was able to play that game without problems, cars didnt lose grip like crazy. People say, that GT6 is not simulator, but for some reason it feels closer to the real thing compared with AC.

  5. Both games look fantastic. I think the pCARS has a bit sharper graphics than AC.

AC is a fantastic game! rF2 has the best AI, but the game is ugly, hard to setup, and finicky to get working proper. I pre-purchased pCARS so I won’t get to try the game until it is released in March 2015 (touch wood it is a sim and not a simcade or arcade game)
