Man, things are definitely not looking good for Piranha Games. Last week, we informed you about the non-existent support from Piranha Games’ community about this new space combat game. Like many, we thought that things could get better for them after a week. However that’s not the case as the game’s campaign is still at 0% of its initial goal ($1 million) and at 1% of its new goal ($500K).
As the description of Transverse’s updated crowd-funding campign reads:
“Hitting this $500,000 goal lets us know that you, the community, want to see this game made just as much as we do. The $500,000 goal gets us to an alpha state on ship construction, flight, combat, and harvesting. While release of the final, fully developed feature for each module is dependent on future funding, this is our first major step towards making this trans-human spacesim a reality. Backers who are a part of hitting this goal will get full access to the alpha builds.
If this goal is not met within the time remaining below (days to reach goal), all backers will be refunded 100%”
Initially, Piranha Games was targeting for $1 million but from the looks of it, this campaign won’t meet even its new, updated goal. At this point, it’s pretty obvious that the community does not want to support Piranha Games’ latest title.
Whether the team will manage to turn the tides and earn its fans’ trust back remains to be seen.

:/ another one bite the dust
“kick-starters” to work they need a good “background” from the team or they should be F****ing epic … If your funs hate you DO NOT make a kick-starter …
Their fans don’t hate them.
Their fans want MWO to expand and become better, not another space flight sim.
105 backers.
Has to be family and friends of the entire PGI team. No other explanation.
I kind of feel bad for them, but at the same time, they did a really stupid thing here.
“Hitting this $500,000 goal lets us know that you, the community, want to see this game made”
lol, nobody cares i guess.
they did a pretty good port “Duke Nukem Forever” and developed one of the best online games called mechwarrior online. LMAO
they deserve it, because it was an MMO and i don’t like mmos/online only s*its (like david jaffe’s online car game which didn’t kickstarted as well), and then this:
“Game design decisions and lack of communication from the developers lead
to a massive community backlash in mid-2013, with commentators
suggesting that the developers were totally out of touch with the
community and the needs of the game.”
this will save people from another broken peace of sh*t and awful support
They should shut down this KS before it gets anymore embarrassing, issue a public apology and promise their “fans” that they will finish MechWarrior Online. That’s the only reasonable way to go here. They’ve backed themselves into a corner here and the only way to get out is to do what the current customerbase demands. It’s either that or close down. This is incredibly obvious to me and it should be even more obvious to anyone in the company.
That’s how I feel. It was a slap to our faces announcing this. I still think MWO is one of the best games out there flaws and all. Just needs more content.
So now we should back alphas? Not even full games? And isn’t that the studio that left Mech Warrior Online unfinished and moved onto this?
They didn’t leave MWO, where the hell did you hear that?
And where have you been the last 3 years? We are literally in an age of everything is being sold as an alpha or beta game to be finished when the dev’s can finish it.
Did you just come online for the first time in 10 years?
Usually devs are more subtle about it and at least pretend that they’re going for a full game. Here they blatantly state that these money will only cover alpha build and that they’re going to ask for more later.
Well, maybe I should appreciate their honesty at least.
