Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s Theme Is Ideal For This Live Action “Akira” Trailer

CineGround has been developing a trailer for a live action adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira. Like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Akira shares a cyber-punk environment, and the team has used the game’s theme that was created by Michael McCann. The end result is amazing, so we strongly suggest watching this trailer that took a year and a half in order to be completed. Enjoy!

  1. This is nicely done, Would be good if they relaunched a crowd funding for a full movie. Half-Life live action film got funded on kickstarter and I don’t see why this wouldn’t get funded now that more people are aware of kickstarter and indiegogo.

    1. legal reasons. hollywood has a terrible akira movie in the works. at one point backed by leonardo cicaprio. about some american teens and scientists in new york or something. sounds shit. this is truer to source material but still sucks. americans should stay away from japanese things. stop butchering things america.

  2. Still looks awful, better than what Hollywood has planned.

I wish Otomo would have done a better job on the movie and stuck closer with the comics then the jumbled mess the 1988 movie became 🙁
