  1. “This is Thief at its core” as it shows a scripted action sequence. That is not the core of the originals. If it’s the core of the new game…lol.

        1. Which scene? Furthermore, I don’t see how you can judge an entire game based on a few video frames in a trailer that’s less than three minutes long. You should try watching an extended gameplay video instead. I’ve seen a couple and apart from the “killcams” (if you can call them that), I don’t find much difference from the originals.

          1. The part where he’s escaping on the roof. A forced action scene, and not the only one from what I’ve heard.

I have watched gameplay videos (I even mentioned that in the previous comment) which I why I am wary of this game. Too much seems watered down compared to the originals, regardless of their “hardcore” options that can be turned on or off. If the game turns out to be good, then cool. But I am going to wait for player opinions before deciding if I want to buy it.

          2. Sure, it’s always wise to make an informed purchase. However, as of now I have no negative impressions of this game yet. The originals too were pretty scripted in my opinion, in a good way. There’s no point in shoe-horning experimental gameplay styles just for the heck of it I think.

    1. those cutscenes after cutscenes and on and on kills the game for me. i’m not against all this cinematic stuff or whatever they call it but when these stuff gets in the way of the gameplay or cuting the gameplay to show you points of intrests makes me feel i’m not in control of the game.

by the way, some people playing it right now and they are mad about the A.I in this game (i don’t know if it’s the 7th gen version or next-gen version of it, maybe all have the same issues). stealth game with mediocre AI (if it’s true) is like playing a shooter game without anything to shoot at

  2. Looks like a PG-13 game. Wheres the extreme blood, gore and violence? Looks like another watered down crap game.

    1. Have you played the originals? None of them have much blood, gore or violence. Thief is a stealth series in case you didn’t know.

      1. Games need to become much more hard core when it comes to sex and violence. USA needs to get rid of that AO rating that prohibits it and that as soon as possible. In Europe its uncut PEGI-18 and you can do whatever kind of game you want (There is no censorship minus Germany) I mean something needs to be done soon or we will face a stagnation soon. Naughty Dog showed with The Last of Us the way to go from hereon.

        1. that will never happen, did you saw the reaction of some jurnalists from a rape scene in Castlevania LoS2 ? they said it’s sexist, it’s brutal, blah bla bla. but what was that scene ? lord dracula suck the blood of a woman out of her neck. no nudity shown, nothing sexy about it, just a helpless woman (fully clothed) died. they make it news, they barked about it everywhere, if nobody knew thinks it was a rape scene that dracula raped a 12yo girl and then killed her

          1. Well all we can say is that they have their right to their opinions as well as we equally have the same right to strongly disagree with that opinion and have OUR OWN opinions. It would indeed be scary if the real world was run by some hysterical liberals and a handful of so called radical feminists in their politically driven agendas. Easiest way to remove the ban on AO games (And introduce 18 in USA) would be for the gaming industry to become a major player in Washington D.C. politics just like the NRA is doing. Even Microsoft are on the same page and says that next Gears of war must reignite.

PS It is no wonder why Naughty Dogs The last of Us is as popular and massive award winning as it is. Best PS3 game ever.

I am just so sick and tired of the same generic BS they make year after year. Even Cod Ghosts, Titanfall looks like PG-13 crap. Go back and look at Phantasmagoria (Made by a woman named Roberta Williams), Doom (21 years old!!!!) , GTA III, Manhunt + II, Now thats awesome games. What we need to do is to take it to next level in gaming for mature adults. Not a single proven case in Europe with the PEGI-18 rating. PEGI even brags on their homepage in how good they are! Everyone loves 18 in Europe except for people below that age as 18 years of age really means 18 years of age in Europe. It is indeed shocking that some people think that a videogame actually can murder people in real life.

          2. i know, i agree.
man Roberta Williams rocked, years in sierra and tons of best graphic adventures i ever played & her husband, they even made a porn game and she was naked on the cover lol

        2. The only games that get AO are outright porn games. The kind of shovelware made by crappy developers you wouldn’t want to play in the first place.

          1. Manhunt 2 and The punisher were rated AO for violence. Fahrenheit/Indigo prophecy and GTA:San Andreas for sex that NO one in Europe made a deal of unlike in USA. You can still get them as PEGI-18 rated in Europe and no cuts or censorship. But hey, theres hope! Even Microsoft says the same thing Im saying:

  3. There is nothing Garret like in punching people in the face, straight out murdering people or scripting through the whole map… It is for Crysis and AC fans. Too much srcipted movements, too much magic with his hand, too much murder and too much light…
