Surprise surprise everyone. Ubisoft has just announced that Assassin’s Creed’s Freedom Cry DLC will also be released as a standalone title, meaning that a purchase of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag will not be required.
In Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, players take the role of pirate Adewale. Forced to face his past, Adewale sets out to free slaves and bring death to their captors.
Originally released as an add-on for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Adewale’s adventure will be available – on February 25th for the PC – as its own stand-alone title; purchase of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is not required.
Enjoy!

What’s the point? My goodness Ubisoft, hope they don’t charge full price for it like AC4.
I doubt it. It’s only about 4-5 hours.
never buying ubisoft again
1. capitalizing and trivializing blacks as it is black history month to make a quick buck
2. showing a black youth about to smash a older white male in the face is some trayvon martin reference to appeal to edgy people.
3. will do nothing but try to raise racial tensions in the usa and rest of the world.
others but i dont want to go on about this. disgusting. especially as its black history month it tells black kids “hey this is your history, you have nothing else. so were gonna capitalize and make money on it and your ancestors pain”
Dude, wtf is wrong with you? its the perspective of an African American Pirate who goes around liberating his enslaved kin from White Slave owners. how is this “Capitalizing on Black History Month”?
Black History month itself trivializes African Americansuffering because unlike every other race that has suffered such as the Irish, African Americans are the only group we continue to highlight the suffering of I find to be insensitive. Wanna respect African Americans and their kinship for what happened to their grand parents and great grand parents? Raise the minimum wage, improve schools in minority districts, create specialization schools in minority districts for good honest professions like Plumbing, Carpentry, Electrical and other fields.
Your f#$king Right Wing drivel ain’t helping anyone and only shows your bigoted perspective on the world.
PS: The DLC is about 5 hours NOT INCLUDING ANY of the side missions, liberation missions, collectables and other diversions. Thus the DLC actually encapsulates around 10-15 hours of gameplay and its very well done and those who love to just shoot through the story will only get 5 or so hours of fun.
He’s not African American and that’s the problem, it’s a black African fleeing from his slavers and the British Empire were that until they outlawed slavery.
There is no such thing as “Africa American”, only to segregate black people in the U.S yet again. Sorry to be political but you’re just as bad giving black people who live in America a tag like they don’t belong there. We don’t say African British, the Americans seem to think black people are not American even after 250 years.
A lot of Americans are Irish, Scottish decent, yet they’re plain Americans and even after 250 years you can’t accept black people the same way, pathetic.
The reason that term exists or ever came to be used wildly is because of their sensitivity to the term “black”. Dont blame the country itself, blame the groups that cry and whine and then we end up with terms like these.
Sad, really sad, Adewale is African, it’s that simple.
I am amazed that he can lift a rock that big over his head without effort. Rocks, they are damn heavy.
Launch on portables, relaunch for consoles; launch DLC, relaunch as standalone; Buy on steam, uPlay required…
Ouch, my head hurts.
