Modder ‘Blu’ has released a Reshade Mod that will remove the yellow color filter from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. As such, PC gamers can experience this AC remake with more natural colors.
To be honest, I do not mind the game’s yellow “piss filter”. So, I did not feel the need to remove it. However, I know some will enjoy it better with more natural colors. Plus, for a second playthrough, it’s cool to experience the game with a different color palette.
In a way, this reminded me of a similar mod that came out for Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Resident Evil 5. Both of these games used a yellow filter, and there was no in-game setting to disable it. I believe the devs should have included an option to enable or disable it. That way, players will no longer rely on such mods. Furthermore, a setting like this can increase a game’s replayability.
Anyway, those interested can go ahead and download the mod from this link. To install it, you’ll need the latest version of Reshade. According to the modder, only Prod80’s shaders are required to run it.
At the end of the article, you can find some comparison screenshots. The modded version is on the left, whereas the vanilla version is on the right. These screenshots will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it. So, be sure to check them out.
As I’ve already reported, the game runs better than Assassin’s Creed Shadows. However, it suffers from a weird bug that can lock the framerate of the cutscenes. Ubisoft is aware of it and plans to fix it via an upcoming update.
Until this update comes out, you can use this mod. Alternatively, you should avoid setting Ray Tracing, BVH, and Terrain Quality to Ultra High.
Our PC Performance Analysis for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will go live tomorrow. In this upcoming article, we’ll have benchmarks for numerous AMD and NVIDIA GPUs.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
