NVIDIA has released a new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 610.62 WHQL Driver offers the best gaming experience for the latest new games supporting DLSS and RTX technologies, including Empulse.
This new driver has the G-Sync framepacing fix that NVIDIA released via a hotfix driver. As such, games should now feel smooth when using a G-Sync monitor.
Smooth Motion should also work fine now. To be more precise, the green team has fixed an issue that could cause jittering or ghosting in some DirectX 11 games when using Smooth Motion. It has also fixed an issue that could cause some games to crash when launched with Smooth Motion.
The NVIDIA GeForce 610.62 WHQL Driver also comes with some game fixes. For instance, it fixes some visual corruption issues that could occur in Apex Legends. DLSS settings will no longer be grayed out in certain games.
It is also worth noting that World of Warcraft should now run more smoothly on NVIDIA graphics cards. In addition, NVIDIA has improved gaming stability for players using multiple monitors with V-SYNC and DLSS Frame Generation enabled. The update also includes general stability improvements that help prevent issues when the system cannot create a new memory allocation.
As I’ve said many times before, it’s not always a good idea to upgrade to the latest GPU driver as soon as it becomes available. We’ve seen numerous issues emerge with newly released drivers. In my opinion, if a user isn’t experiencing any problems with their current driver, they should stick with it. Even if they decide to update, it’s often safer to choose a driver version that’s one or two releases behind the latest, unless those older drivers are known to have major issues of their own.
If you still want to upgrade to the latest driver, you can go ahead and download it from this link. Below, you can also find its full changelog.
