Modder ‘Maszradine’ has released a cool new mod for Crimson Desert that aims to overhaul its third-person camera system. This mod makes a lot of changes to the default camera system. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
First of all, the CDCamera – Camera Overhaul for Crimson Desert mod lets you lock the camera so it doesn’t constantly zoom out or tilt while you’re moving. This is something that annoyed a lot of players. As of now, I’m not sure whether the devs plan to add an option for this. So if you’re not a fan of the zoom-in/zoom-out behavior, this mod will let you disable it.
The mod also brings some new camera styles. For instance, you can find a lower camera style that is inspired by The Witcher 3 and God of War. There is a Western camera style that is inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2. There is also an over-the-shoulder camera that is inspired by Resident Evil 2 Remake.
And that’s not all. The mod allows you to change the FOV. It can also provide a wider view during combat. Additionally, it offers a Bane Mode that will center your character on screen.
All in all, this is a cool mod for those who are not satisfied with the default camera mode. If you are one of them, you can use this mod to get access to the camera styles I mentioned above. You can go ahead and download it from this link.
Crimson Desert has sold over 3 million copies across all platforms so far. And while some players were disappointed by some of the issues it had at launch, Pearl Abyss has been working quickly to address them. For instance, the devs have already released a patch that added the missing hotkeys. As such, you won’t have to use the mod we shared last week.
Pearl Abyss has also stated that it’s working on adding support for the Intel Arc GPUs. It’s unacceptable that the game came out without any support for them. So, let’s hope that there will be initial support for them by the end of this month. If I had to be realistic, I’d say that the Intel Arc GPUs will not be supported until the end of next month. But hey, let’s be optimistic about it.
Finally, the devs have not made any comments about the technical issues I and others have raised. So, we don’t know when, or if, they will fix them. For instance, there are major issues with the DLSS 4.5 implementation. The game also suffers from major ghosting and flickering issues. You can find more details about them in our detailed PC Performance Analysis article.
