YouTube’s ‘Kitsune Fuzzy’ has shared a cool video, showcasing a remake of the Galaxy Comet level of Super Mario Galaxy in Unreal Engine 5. This video can give you an idea of what Super Mario Galaxy could look like in a modern engine like UE5.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a fan recreate a level from Super Mario Galaxy in Unreal Engine 5. In July 2025, another YouTuber recreated Gateway Galaxy in UE5. Not only that, but he released a demo that you can still download and try it.

Sadly, though, there isn’t any playable demo for this new fan remake. All we have is this video. Still, I’m certain that a lot of Super Mario fans will find it cool.

To be honest, I have not played Super Mario Galaxy. So, I don’t know how accurate this fan remake is. It’s at least pleasing to the eye, and I personally like everything I see. So yeah, I’d really like to see a Mario game that can look like this. And since Switch 2 supports Unreal Engine 5, Nintendo may finally be able to come close to something like this.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, you should also check out the following fan projects. For instance, you can find some faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3, which are super cool. A few months ago, we also shared an amazing remake of Toy Story 2. Then there’s this cool fan remake of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. In February 2024, we also shared fan remakes of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and GTA 3, as well as an Uncharted fan game. We also have a remaster of Unreal Gold and a cool fan remake of Doom 3. You should also watch the full-on remake video for Final Fantasy 9, and this HD-2D Fan Remake for Xenogears. Moreover, here is a fantastic fan remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.

Need for Speed Carbon and Tony Hawk’s Underground also have some awesome fan remakes. There’s even a fan remake of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation that features Angelina Jolie and Christoph Waltz. But that’s not all. Fans have also made remakes for Star Wars: Republic Commando, Death Stranding, Fallout 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Fallout 4, Resident Evil 1, and Silent Hill 3’s Lakeside Amusement Park. A former Infinity Ward and Wargaming artist has also remastered Half-Life 2’s train station intro in Unreal Engine 5. Oh, and there’s a video showing MGS2’s iconic intro in UE5.
